The Project has aim to detect blind spot to avoid accidents takes place in highways. The Blind Spot Detection System is designed to aid in detecting vehicles that may have entered the blind spot zone. The detection area is on both sides of your vehicle, extending rearward from the exterior mirrors. The system is designed to alert you if vehicles, approaching from the rear, enter the blind spot zone. When driving a vehicle on a road, if a driver want to change lane, he must glance the rear and side mirrors of his vehicle and turn his head to scan the possible approaching vehicles on the side lanes. However, the view scope by the above behavior is limited; there is a blind spot area invisible. To avoid the possible traffic accident, we here propose a blind spot detection system. Car Driver Assisted for Blind Spot System is invented to observe the blind spot region and alert the driver automatically to ensure the driver safety on highway due to the driver inability to observe the blind spot area directly which had caused many accident occur. A Critical Review on Rainwater Harvesting and a Case Study - Way Ahead to Sustainability
-Harshitha Ram ; Rakshith N; Khushbu K Biravath
Ismail Serageldin, former World Bank Vice-President Quotes "The wars of this century were fought over oil; the wars of next century will be fought over water". The various episodes of water crisis occurring both globally and locally, proves this statement true. To ensure sustainability, we need to look out for and apply all the strategies available at our disposal for water conservation. One among them is Rain Water Harvesting (RWH). India is a land of versatile weather where inconsistency in rainfall is frequent. This irregular pattern is seen more in Southern India. Karnataka has limited water resources, which are depleted and stressed due to Population increase, urbanization & industrialization. If similar trend in consumption prevails, it is projected that by 2030 we will be able to satisfy only 54% of our water demand and the state will additionally require 49 TMC annually to serve its population. Karnataka's water demand is highly influenced by the water demand of Bengaluru, which alone accounts for about 2/3rd of the additional water requirement of Karnataka, and is going to triple over next decade. Although Rainwater Harvesting (Amendment) Regulations, 2011, has been imposed, its absolute implementation has yet to be achieved. This paper aims to present a critical view on the need for Rainwater harvesting and bring awareness among the public. Also, we have designed a Roof top RWH system for Global Academy of Technology, Bengaluru. Read More...

Design of Hybrid Solar - Wind Power System using Incremental Conductance MPPT Algorithm
-R. Abinaya ; M. Jagadeeshraja; V. Seenivasan
Amongst all the renewable resources, wind and solar are the most popular resources due to its ease of availability and its easy conversion into electricity. A solar panel output will vary with respect to solar radiation and this radiation is less which does not meet the requirements of the load. Wind is a variable form of energy, varying throughout the day as well as with seasons. It is also not meet the requirement of the load. So we proposed hybrid renewable energy system to tracking maximum power by using Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). An incremental Conductance(IC) algorithm is used for better tracking power. Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter (SEPIC) converter which acts as a step up or step down transformer to boost the voltage based on solar radiation level and wind system. The limitations such as inverted output voltage, high electric stress on converter elements and pulsating input current are resolved by the proposed converter. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) type of inverter module is employed to convert DC voltage into AC voltage for AC load applications. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated in simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment .The practical system was tested up to 15V solar panel, wind energy, 12V lead acid battery, and 24V SEPIC converter module and 230V inverter. Steganography in Skin Tone Region of Image using DWT
-Miss Sneha S Patil ; Prof. R. J. Shelke
Steganography is defined as the science of hiding or embedding "data" in another transmission medium. It does not replace cryptography but rather improve the security. This system is based on biometrics. In this system secret information is embedded inside skin tone region of image size 256×256 that may offer a secure location for information activity. The skin tone detection is performed using HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value) colour space. And embedding of secret data of size 32×32 is performed using frequency domain approach. This system shows that by adopting an object oriented Steganography mechanism, in the sense that, we track skin tone objects in image. Secret data is hidden in one of the high frequency sub-band of DWT by tracing skin pixels in that sub-band. Different steps of data hiding are applied by cropping an image, we get a higher security. Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis through Speech
-Amreen Saifer ; Dr. S. Ali
Parkinson's disease (PD) is primarily diagnosed by clinical examinations, such as walking test, handwriting test, and MRI diagnostic. In our research, we propose to diagnose Parkinson’s disease through Speech. Classification of PD using speech records is a challenging task owing to the fact that the classification accuracy is still lower than doctor-level. Here we demonstrate classification of Parkinson’s disease using Neural Network by extracting speech features such as MFCC, HFCC, LPC, Pitch, Energy and ZCR. Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) are the most widely used speech features in automatic speech recognition systems. Human factor cepstral coefficients (HFCC), a modification of MFCC that uses the known relationship between center frequency and critical bandwidth to decouple filter bandwidth from filter spacing had recently introduced by the researchers. In our project, we extracted the features from speech signal and then mean of that extracted signal is taken. To make a dataset of extracted signal mean is taken, then this dataset is fed to Neural Network which classify the signal as pathological or normal. Read More...

Now a days, The pollution of air and sound is increasing abruptly. To bring it under control its monitoring is majorly recommended. To overcome this issue, we are proposing a system through which the level of sound and the existence of the harmful gases in the surroundings can be detected. The growing pollution at such an alarming rate has started creating trouble for the living beings, may it be high decibels or toxic gases present in the environment leaves a harmful effect on human’s health and thus needs a special attention. The main objective of Air & Sound Monitoring System is to monitor air quality and noise level and keep it under control for a better future and healthy living for all. We propose an air quality as well as sound pollution monitoring system that allows us to monitor and check live air quality as well as sound pollution in an area using IOT technology. Proposed approach uses air sensors to sense presence of harmful gases/compounds in the air and constantly transmit the recorded data. The sensors interact with Arduino which processes the recorded data and transmits it over to the android app. This allows authorities to monitor air pollution in different areas and act against it. Also, authorities can keep a watch on the noise pollution near schools, hospitals and no honking areas, and if system detects air quality and noise issues it alerts authorities so they can take measures to control the issue. Design and Static Analysis of Wheel Rim By FEA
-Abhishek Kesskar ; Sushrut Ranade; Vikram Wavhal; Vinayak Mandale; Manesh Thorat
The main objective is to analyse the causes of failures of wheel rim. Generally, the rim’s surface gets cracked, sometimes bents due to high impact loading or crack initiates at the welds. Damage to the rims can cause vibration and the tire to hold pressure. Any damage, such as rust, cracks, dents, etc. Could result in excessive vibration loss of air pressure, instability, and even complete structural failure. Because of this, damage to wheel rims is very serious, as this could result in failure of the 'Wheel Rim' during running conditions. Though repairs can be made to a wheel's rim, visible damage could be indicative of greater damage that cannot be easily noticed, so a repaired wheel rim will never be structurally as sound as a new one. There may be many causes of failure, this project will discuss about the various failures which may arise in the rim. This project is all about the calculation of maximum and minimum von-Mises stresses and deflections with the help of ANSYS software. We can easily detect the areas where major portion of the load has been applied. Read More...

Experimental Study on Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete
-M. Kumari ; M. Mallikarjuna
Steel fibers can be used to reinforce concrete. Steel fibers are generally classified depending on their manufacturing method. The addition of steel fibers to concrete necessitate an alteration to the mix design to compensate for the loss of workability due to the extra paste required for coating the surface of the added steel fibers. While many technical and economic advantages are benefited from using SFRC, drawbacks can also be found. They are however not likely to cause major problems. It was thought that steel fibers will have negative implications in concrete practice (i.e. transporting, surfacing, finishing etc), but experience has shown that the influence of steel fibers on these practical aspects is negligible. This research is based on investigating the effect of steel fibers on strength parameters of concrete for M-40 grade using fibers like straight fiber. This study is to study the compressive strength, Split tensile strength, flexural strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) containing fibers of 0%, 0.25%, 0.50% and 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% by volume of cement. Pool Banking: The Only Solution for Cord Blood Banking
-Jaianand Kannaiyan ; SuriyaNarayanan; Rohan Chowdhury; Jayant Gopal; Anil Hota
There are at least 142 public and 25 private UCB banks world over, of which 4 public and 13 private banks located in India. In India, insufficient quantity of just about 5000 cord blood units is available in public banks. The chance of obtaining a matched donor for an Indian recipient from foreign registries is meagre due to ethnicity and exorbitant cost. In such cases, unrelated cord blood transplantation can be a lifesaving source of hematopoietic stem cells as cord blood is advantageous over bone marrow or peripheral blood in terms of rapid availability, human leukocyte antigen mismatch tolerance, and lower incidence of graft versus host diseases. The therapeutic utility of these cord blood stem cells led to development of storing the cord blood for future use in banks. Even though private cord blood banks store UCB for 21 years, the volume for transplantation purpose may not guarantee the effective weight per kilogram requirement of stem cells for diseased child’s need. As HLA match is ethnically dependent, the required public bank size varies according to ethnicity of that area and HLA polymorphism. Cord blood pool banking advocates that all cord blood units stored as part of private banking be made available in a cord blood pool to find the best matched cord blood unit for stored persons suffering from haematological disorders. It make umbilical cord blood stem cell transplants a viable option, accessing unrelated cord blood (allogenic) as a solution, and having inventories of all the ethnic group will provide chance to get matched donor. The article emphasizes the new revolutionary concept for overcoming the hurdles of cord blood banking. Read More...

Modeling of MRR due to Traveling Wire Electro-Chemical Spark Machining Process using FEM
-Pravabati Bhuyan ; Satish Mishra; B. K. Bhuyan
Traveling wire electrochemical spark machining (TW-ECSM) is a spark erosion based hybrid non-conventional machining process which is suitable for slicing the electrically non-conductive hard and brittle materials like borosilicate glass keeping as workpiece materials. This paper reports an axisymmetric finite element method based thermal model has been developed for the intention of the transient temperature distribution in the workpiece which is further post-processed for determination of material removal rate (MRR) during TW-ECSM process. The predicted value of MRR is compared with the experimental results for validation. The developed model was able to study the effect of TW-ECSM process parameters such as applied voltage and electrolyte concentration on the process performance. It has been found that the effect of applied voltage on MRR is more prominent than the wire feed velocity and also MRR increases with the increase of electrolyte concentration, but they decrease with the increase of electrolyte concentration of some specific values. -P. Gayathri ; Dr. P. B. Edwin Prabhakar
The proposed method is device to device communication scheme under temporal a cellular network in that where both a cellular users (CUs) and Device to Device (D2D) are discrete power-rate system receiver get limited feedback. It is assured that there exists an attacker which wants the transmission of information form Base Station (BS) to CUs. Considering the D2D communication shares the similar spectrum with cellular network and also must consider the cross interference. When considering the secrecy capacity, D2D communication causes the interference it helps to improve the secrecy communications by confusing the eavesdroppers. In consideration of both systems share the similar spectrum, cross interference must be considered. the proposed resource allocation formulated into an optimization problem whose objective is to maximize the moderate transmission rate of D2D pair in the presence of the cellular communications under moderate transmission power constraint. In cellular network, we require a minimum moderate achievable rate of secrecy in the D2D communication presence it should be satisfied. To solve the optimization problem the proposed is due to high complexity convex method of Optimization that we apply scheme of evolutionary that are Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). We model and study the channel feedback. By Parametric and non-parametric methods imperfection of Channel Distribution Information (CDI) to study the model of feedback channel and error rectification. Performance is revealed the result of numerical values with scenario. Read More...
