Raspberry PI Based Wireless Smart Library Book Catalog System
-Apurva Durge ; Bapu Gawade; Sumitra Motade
In recent days, whenever someone wants to take a book from library he or she must go through all the books available in library related to the subject. Even if the book is not available in that library, the user will have to search the entire department. Also, the manual work done by the librarians is tedious as they must organize the books as per the department and must maintain the records to summaries the present-day library system is not efficient and need improvement with the advance technology. To solve the problem of manual work done in the present-day library system, we propose the idea of using a smart cart for accessing the library catalogue. It will automate the process of borrowing a book or issuing a book or any other literature available in library. We propose to use an intelligent system that reduces the manual work and fastens the processes in a library. Also, we can merge the data- bases of various public libraries available in a city and provide the information to the citizens so that it will be easier for them to go to only that specific library which has the book instead of browsing through all the libraries and moving from place to place. Mechanical Properties of Micro-Size Glass Beads Filled Epoxy Composites
-Rahul Kumar Dhakde ; Dr. Alok Agrawal
Solid glass microspheres of around 100 microns size were incorporated in epoxy matrix in present work. Composite were fabricated in six different sets using simple hand lay-up technique. The filler content varies in between 0 wt% i.e. neat epoxy and 25 wt % for fabricating the different sets of composites. The main emphasis of the present work is on the general trends observed in their mechanical properties i.e. micro-hardness, tensile strength, flexural strength and impact energy. In the analysis it was found that, solid glass microsphere invariably increases the micro-hardness and impact energy of the composite and this increase is a function of filler content. On the other hand it was found that flexural strength increases but the rate of increase of this strength is very less whereas a surprising output of this analysis was that the tensile strength decreases with increase in filler content though the decrement is marginal. Experimental Investigation on Concrete by Partial Replacement of Cement with Sewage Sludge Powder and Fly Ash
-M Kalyan Raja Babu ; V. Bhargavi
Sludge is an inevitable by-product of wastewater treatment. The disposal of sludge is a complex problem that can affect air, land & environment. Thus the large scaled disposal of sludge is one of the major concerns of any municipality. Currently the most common methods of sludge disposal are ocean dumping, land filling & agricultural use. All these disposal alternatives have varying degrees of environmental impact. Therefore there is a need of alternative solutions to the problem of sludge disposal. One possible solution lies in using incinerated sludge for economical uses in construction as substitute materials. Digested and dewatered sludge, after incineration at a high temperature, yields a hard, cellular, porous mass with low unit weight. This hardened mass of sludge ash can be crushed to smaller-sized aggregates, which, when graded in suitable proportions, manifest the basic attributes required of lightweight aggregates. Read More...

Design & Analysis of Mono Composite Leaf Spring
-Siddesha. S ; Srinivas Y. V.; Atkilt Mulu
Weight reduction is now the main issue in automobile industries. Weight reduction can be achieved primarily by the introduction of better material, design optimization and better manufacturing processes. The introduction of FRP material has made it possible to reduce the weight of spring without any reduction on load carrying capacity. The automobile industry has shown increased interest in the replacement of steel spring with fiberglass composite leaf spring due to high strength to weight ratio. Therefore, the aim of this project is to present a low cost fabrication of complete mono composite leaf spring. The achievement of weight reduction with adequate improvement of mechanical properties has made composite a very good replacement material for conventional steel. Selection of material is based on cost and strength of material. The composite materials have more elastic strain energy storage capacity and high strength to weight ratio as compared with those of steel, so multi-leaf steel springs are being replaced by mono-leaf composite springs. This project gives the brief look on the suitability of composite leaf spring on vehicles and their advantages. The objective of this work is to present a general study on the Design and Analysis of composite (Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite-GFRC) leaf spring. Static analysis is performed out in FEA based software Ansys14.5 with design constrains as Stress, Deflection with varying thickness. Read More...

Effect of Traffic Congestion and Proper Solution for Karad City
-Ms. Karande Madhavi Jalindar ; Prof. Mr. Kanade G. N.
Due to increase in population and the attraction of human activities into urban region which in turn leads to the growth of vehicle ownership and use, there is demand for road space which has led to increase in the number of public transport operation. Consequently, the demand for road space is greater than the supply because the rate of provision of transport facilities is less than the rate of growth of vehicle ownership and use which result into traffic congestion. Traffic congestion is the impedance of vehicles imposed on each other due to speed-flow relationship in conditions where the use of transport system approaches capacity. Traffic congestion in Nigeria, taking Basorun-Akobo Road in Ibadan Oyo State as a case study has been analysed using experimental and theoretical approaches. These involve traffic counting and delay survey. In order to carry out effective research work on the case study road, the method adopted were traffic counting and traffic delay survey. The effect of traffic congestion on the study area are Waste of time, Delay movement, Accident, Inability to forecast travel time, Fuel consumption, Road rage and environmental pollution. Possible solutions to traffic congestion on the case study area is to: Dualize the Road, Provide Adequate Parking Space, Construct proper Drainage and Install Traffic Control Devices. Read More...

Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images: A Critical Review
-Akanksha Bansal ; Prof. Dr. Manoj Ramaiya
The global digital revolution has made this earth more comfortable and smart. This has inspired many engineers to design smart applications in every sphere of modern life. The dark side of the coin is the security of the data. This has motivated technical research in the direction of efficient and hi fi tempered proof data hiding. The most popular technique is reversible data hiding (RDH). The other common name for this method is lossless data hiding. The world technical community is busy publishing the research papers on RDH. There is an ample of scope for developing software tools, which can support image steganography, combined with text encryption. The data is hidden behind some digital cover media. This media can be an image, video, audio or text. The hidden data is transmitted over some channel and it may contain some secret key. This key ensures the authenticated delivery of the payload. The receiver gets the original data after the separation of the same from the actual media. The RDH method helps to recover the original hidden message from the digital data. This method is lossless and this quality is suitable for real life applications like medical science, defence, big data storage etc. The cloud storage can be useful for secured data storage like drop box and google drive. The RDH is used in encrypted images in these applications. The variations in the method can be with and without pre-processing the encrypted images (RDHEI). In this paper, the most common methods of hiding the encrypted images have been reviewed. There are few methods, which allow large data embedding and very efficient while other are not so efficient. The few algorithms discussed are able to provide the lossless data hiding while few have partial distortions. The methods covered are having their own merits and demerits. The better combination is reversible data hiding and lossless recovery of the original carrier and data in encrypted image. The embedding pixels are randomly chosen. The secret key makes it more secure. The random selection of the embedding pixels makes it very difficult to intrude into the communication channel. The secret key at the receiving end opens the lock and the hidden data can easily be recovered without distorting the carrier data. On the basis of the analysis of the entire research papers the unique reversible data hiding method using histogram shifting –imitated approach. The image is broken into finite number of segments and one segment is chosen to hide the data. Each segment is represented in the form of histogram. The peak points are chosen on the basis of intensity of the pixel value. The secret data is hidden into the cover image by modifying the peak point pixel value in the same segment. This embedding method yields high embedding capacity and robust data security. Read More...

Experimental Investigations of Al-Si alloy based Al2O3 and SiC Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composite
-Nagendra Parkar ; Ashok Kumar Sharma; Satya Dewangan; Vikas Gadpale
The present paper deals with the study of microstructure and mechanical behaviour of Al2O3 and SiC reinforced Al-Si alloy metal matrix composites (MMCs). Matrix alloys with fixed percentage of Al2O3 and varying percentage of 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10% of SiC were made using stir casting technique. The Microvicker hardness test shows that as the percentage of reinforcement material increases the value of hardness is also increases and value of hardness for each sample is having superior hardness than its previous one because of variation of reinforcement and the last sample has highest value of hardness because it has highest percentage of reinforcement. The characterization of the Al-Si alloy MMCs was carried out by Optical Microscopy (OM), and Xray Diffraction (XRD). An X-ray diffractometer is used to confirm the presence of Al2O3 and SiC as well as to estimate quantitatively the weight percentage of Al2O3 and SiC particles in the composite for the various reaction holding times. Microstructures of the composites are studied by Optical Microscopy (OM). Read More...

Design Optimization of Transmission Housing using FEA
-Sushant Sadashiv Sankpal ; Vijay S. Jadhav
A transmission housing has certain functional requirements based on which it was designed through the years. During the design of a gearbox there has been hardly any rigorous design procedure adopted for transmission housing. There is need for a definite design procedure in consideration of a large number of failures in such designs. We are going to prepare the Design Analysis of a transmission housing using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Method. Like gear and shafts transmission housing is also important transmission component. Thus the strength of transmission housing is to be important parameter to be taken into account while designing. After getting 3D model pre-processing is prepared by using Ansys. The proper inspection of the material and understand the critical region in the casting. The FEA analysis helps to understand the critical region and non-critical region. The analysis helps to proper optimization of geometry and helps to reduce the size or increase the size and increase the total life of the component. Optimized design for the transmission housing found out by this process in which it has the best performance without any failure and with minimum loads acting on the housing. FEA also be carried out on design of the gearbox housing to check whether the design is safe or not. Read More...

Vehicle Number Plate Detection and Recognition of Characters in ANPR
-Nitesh Shukla ; Divyanshu Rao
This is the age of "digital India". In modern India the technologies play an important role in the race of globalization. I would like to participate in this race as an Indian, so that I have decided to introduce my research in the field of Indian security. The main goal of my research is to provide secure and efficient way for the traffic police to recognize the number plate of a vehicle on the spot in field of either an accident or the crime. Presently the vehicle number is captured by the image camera and the image is transmitted to the traffic police central office. It requires more bandwidth to carry the poor image and more power. I want to make an idea by which the information of the owner of the vehicle is directly transmitted to the traffic police central office. This would be an automatic system which can help to reduce the man power and the faster information way to avoid more crimes or to catch the criminals. It also helps to find out the stolen vehicles. I want to use some techniques for better resolution for the poor image of the number plate and the faster and efficient way to transmit this data to the traffic police central office. Read More...

Key-Aggregate Searchable Encryption (KASE) Framework using Single Aggregate Key
-Aishwarya Chavan ; G. T. Chavan
With the advancement of information technologies particularly cloud storage is used for outsourcing data. Now a day's users store a large amount of information on the cloud but it's untrusted and we store secure data on the cloud. To conquer this downside we suggest the idea of searchable encryption that gives promising way in resolving the privacy problem at the time of storing data to the cloud. This method consent to store the information in encryption format on an untrusted server, and then hand over the server to search on their behalf by the private key and encrypted search indices. When a file is to be shared with a group of people, lot of keys need to be generated and shared with users. A main confront to scheming such encryption method lies in the well-organized encryption key management. Our System is an advancement of key aggregate searchable encryption (KASE), where a data holder only wants to share out a single key to multiple users for allocation of the huge documents, and the user only has to offer a single trapdoor to the cloud for getting the shared documents. The safety analysis and performance estimation confirm that the given method is probably safe and practically capable. Read More...

SMS Spam Filtering and Classification Based on PMI and Naive Bayes Algorithm
-Devika Nair ; Diksha Poulenkar; Achal Tari; Prachi Savaikar
Short Message Service (SMS) is one of the most widely used media of communication due to its cheapness and convenient usage. Since all the SMS are Push -Type messages and there is no flow control over the number of messages received which leads to generation of huge amounts of SMS on the device. As the growth of the subscriber and messaging volumes continue, the spam messages become more frequent leading to degradation of mobile network performance. This has resulted in increase in demand for efficient spam solutions. The main focus of this project is to filter the spam SMS using point-wise mutual information (PMI) to detect the word co-occurrences and to classify the spam / ham messages by using Naïve Bayes classifier. Then the ham messages are further categorized into different categories such as Bank, Festival, Entertainment, Shopping, Greetings and Sports. Read More...
