Enhancement of Security in MANET using Optimized Reactive Protocol
-Pooja Rani ; Ramandeep Singh
The investigations of energy-efficient communication in wireless networks provide many future research directions. The performance of any routing protocol mainly depends on the energy consumed while travelling from source to destination. We seek to optimize the energy in wireless network through routing. Essentially, energy optimization is used to enhance the lifetime so that less energy can be consumed, additional packets should be distributed with less Bit Error Ratio and less routing overhead. In this research, the performance analysis of reactive protocol is evaluated. MANETs are the dynamic network where topology can change with respect to time. So, the network topology becomes unstructured and node enters or leaves the network according to their need. As per Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of communication devices or nodes that wish to communicate without any fixed infrastructure and predetermined organization of available links. Security is a major challenge for these networks owing to their features of open medium, dynamically changing topologies. Read More...

Determination of Compost Maturity by Rotary Drum Composting of Organic Solid Waste
-P Sinaguru
Studies are conducted to evaluate the stability of compost prepared by three combinations (C/N 16, 22 and 30) of grass cutting, mix vegetable waste, cattle dung, food waste, and paper waste and saw waste in a rotary drum composter. Variations in key stability parameters were observed to assess the stability of compost. The decrease in CO2 evolution rates for the C/N 16, 22 and 30 strongly recommended the viability of rotary drum for all kind of municipal organic waste with different C/N ratios. Results indicated the compost of C/N 22 with lower final Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) can be considered as the very mature compost with, and were ready for usage as a soil conditioner. Therefore, it can be suggested that rotary drum composting of mixed organic waste at initial C/N ratio of 22 can produce stable compost within 20 days of composting. Read More...

Evaluation of FRC using Steel and PVA Fibers in Concrete
-Aayush Yadav ; Swaswati Roy; P. K. Ranganathan
Concrete is the widely used construction materials. The conventional concrete is enhanced by the addition of fibers in it. The brittleness in concrete is reduced and the adequate ductility of concrete is ensured by the addition of fibers in concrete. Fibers used are polyvinyl alcohol and steel fibres in various volume combinations. The main reason for adding fibre to concrete matrix is to find its compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. The base polyvinyl alcohol is highly resistant to the majority of aggressive agent and will never oxidize when exposed to the condition which causes the steel to rust. The hybrid fibres of various combinations in polyvinyl alcohol fibre is 0.1%, 0.25%, 0.5% and steel fibre 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0% are decided to use in concrete mix. The workability of these fibre reinforced concrete mixes will be increased by addition of super plasticizer. It gives good impact strength, ductility, high load bearing capacity after being cracked, high resistance to corrosion. PVA and steel fiber got wide acceptance as a less hazardous and reasonable cost alternative. It is also suitable characteristic for reinforcing cementitious composites. Read More...

Two Wheeler Disc Brake Shape Optimization For Optimization in Temperature Distribution in Disc
-Mr. Sagar Deshmukh ; Prof. Hredeya Mishra
A brake is a device by means of which artificial frictional resistance is applied to moving machine member in order to stop the motion of a machine. In the process of performing this function the brakes absorb kinetic energy of the moving member and dissipate the absorbed energy in the form of heat. Brakes may be a drum type or a disc type and are operated frequently as and when needed resulting in temperature rise of the brake disc as well as brake pads leading to wear and failure of the system. One of the desired devices is a disc brake testing machine to test the average rise in temperature of brake disc surface while braking is applied frequently with a selected braking/un-braking cycle. In the present study, a disc brake test rig has been selected for design; development and testing a brake disc for temperature rise and optimize brake disc design for of a two wheeler (PULSER). Design and Fabrication of Chainless Bicycle
-Prakhar Srivastava ; Rishabh Singh; Yogendra Singh; Nitesh Kumar
In this paper, design and fabrication of chainless bicycle is discussed with the concept to provide a dynamic change to primarily existed bicycles with chain drives which helped the people to cover the paths or distances on wheels, after understanding the need & use of wheels. And recently, bicycles with shaft drives have been developed with unique advantages & better efficiencies. For project-making, the conventional shaft-drive was better suited over its cost & flexibility. The shaft drive uses a shaft instead of a chain to transmit power from pedals to wheels. Here the mechanism is equipped with ball bearings connected with shaft-drive, for high power transmission to wheels. Bearings along with the characteristic of minimizing friction save the energies of people. Pedaling works at a smooth pace to transmit the power from forward sprocket to backward sprocket with bearing-shaft-bearing network. This system will also achieve the variable speeds like internal-gearing systems, but it is better than those systems in several manners. Our work is aimed to reduce the power wastage (human energy) by using light weight drive shaft connecting with ball bearings to make the design standardized. Read More...

Bringing Women from Indian Slums Closer to Digital Knowledge & Trends
-Shlok Gupta
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.†– Mahatma Gandhi
Learning and education forms an important part of modern world. Right education grooms an individual, gives him access to think logically & factually. Education transforms lives and is at the heart of UNESCO’s mission to build peace, eradicate poverty and drive sustainable development.(1) Today, education has become accessible to a vast population around the world, yet, many are still devoid of this ‘luxury’. Poverty plays an important role in this. Many rural areas are devoid of education. Even in urban areas, slums don’t have education levels up to the mark. As a result people in such areas suffer from unsustainable living. A slum can be defined as ‘A residential area where dwellings are unfit for human habitation by reasons of dilapidation, overcrowding, lack of ventilation or sanitation facility and having drinking water facilities in unhygienic conditions’. Around 24% of India lives in slums.(7) Cramped spaces, bad sanitation, garbage and filth are some of the highlights of slums of India. The people residing in these spaces mostly belong to lower income class who make their living by doing odd jobs. Hence, they have limited reach to education. In a deeply patriarchal society such as India, the access of women to various facilities is generally much more limited than men. The situation is particularly worse in educationally backward areas such as slums. Hence women in slums are deprived of many basic necessities. Thus, digital literacy for women can bring a huge change in this space. This paper focuses on analyzing the overall situation and suggesting a way to improve it. A case study has been used as a catalyst to highlight how this goal could be achieved. Read More...

Review on Numerical Investigation and Optimization of Switched Reluctance Machine with Geometrical Parameters using Ansys
-Naushine Abid ; Prof. Alka Thakur
Due to SRM’s robust construction, high operation reliability, high efficiency, high torque to inertia ratio, and low manufacturing costs, they have been attracting substantial attention over the last two decades. Their simple brushless structure and the absence of commutators can be considered as the principal advantage that leads to their stable operation. Since SRMs have no winding or permanent magnet on the rotor, the rotor losses are low, and as such they require no rotor cooling. Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) are used in numerous applications due to their simple and robust structure. In addition to being mechanically and thermally robust, features such as high torque density, efficiency, and reliability, coupled with their fault tolerant structure and low manufacturing cost make SRMs quite attractive. Although SRMs have many features and advantages, large torque ripple, vibration, and acoustic noise are the major disadvantages of these machines. The vibration and acoustic noise of SRMs are mainly generated by the radial forces. The radial forces cause deformation on the stator yoke, which results in vibrations and consequently, frame deformation. When these vibrations resonate with the motor body’s natural frequencies, the amplitude of the oscillations and the deformations are intensified. Hence, the acoustic noise increases significantly. The vibration and acoustic noise of SRMs have been deeply investigated throughout the years, and various methods are reported based on modifications on the motor structure and motor control for reducing them. In this thesis, a new vibration and acoustic noise mitigation method is proposed. This method combines the radial force reduction and damping improvement on the stator. The radial force is reduced by introducing rectangular windows on the rotor and the stator poles, which result in a reduction on the stator deformation. Read More...

An Overview of Interlocking Concrete Pavement
-Arpita Verma ; Ankit Sethi; Sunil Kumar
In many parts of the world Interlocking Concrete Pavement (ICP) is rapidly gaining popularity for roads, airports and industrial pavements. The history of ICP starts in 19th Century when paving stones were used in European countries for roads construction serving as footpaths and tracks for steel-wheeled vehicles. The use of small stone elements to create a hard surface for roads or pavements is an ancient tradition dating back to Greek and Roman times. The use of ICP occurred in post war Holland in 1940‘s as a replacement for clay brick streets. ICP was introduced in North America in the mid-1970s and have been successfully used in many pavement applications. There are a wide range of ICP applications including city streets, driveways, crosswalks, sidewalks, parking areas, ports, container terminals, and airports. Read More...

Design Analysis and Get an Optimized Solution for Lift Body Structure
-Mr. Sandip Mali ; Prof. Hredeya Mishra
The demand for bigger, faster and lighter moving vehicles as well as material handling systems has increased the importance of efficient structural arrangements. In principle two approaches exist to develop efficient structures: either application of new materials or the use of new structural design. A proven and well-established solution is the use of composite materials and sandwich structures. In this way high strength to weight ratio and minimum weight can be obtained. The sandwich structures have potential to offer a wide range of attractive design solutions. In addition to the obtained weight reduction, these solutions can often bring space savings, fire resistance, noise control and improved heating and cooling performance. Laser-welded metallic sandwich panels offer a number of outstanding properties allowing the designer to develop light and efficient structural configurations for a large variety of applications. These panels have been under active investigations during the last 15 years in the world. Read More...

Advanced Human Face Detection and Enhancement in Image based Personality Trait Identification
-Jishnu C R ; Dr. Priya S; Mr. Sreekumar K
It is often difficult to make judgements on humans personality traits and intelligence even if we got a solid amount of Interaction with them. The main reason of this problem is that the humans unlike every other organisms, can fake the personality they exhibit with other beings. This proves that, it is even harder to detect ones personality and intelligence measures. In order to overcome this issue, we humans have decided to train the computers so that they can make accurate Judgements on humans without any delay. To perform this, the system should have a proper knowledge on human faces and should detect faces from images. Considering the improvement of technology, we are currently capable of taking standard images of humans. However, there are factors which could cause the face detection impossible such as noise, blurred edges and illuminance variations. The prime focus of this work is on the preprocessing stage of personality detection that is detecting and aligning human face from images. The Objective of this work is to propose face detection method and evaluate to perform some enhancement operations so as to improve the accuracy of personality trait detection algorithm. Read More...

Design and Analysis of Ejector for ERS
-Amar Tanaji Biradar ; Saurabh Laxman Ghenand; Shubham Machindra Ghanwat; Vinay Sawant
In conventional refrigeration system we use compressor for compressing the refrigerant gas coming out of evaporator by using the electric energy. But due to Increase in pressure and Temperature it may cause compressor to overheat and fail. Also, the electrical failure includes imbalances in the voltage or current, results in overheating and failure of Compressor. Also, the compressor produces a hissing or creaming noise. So here introduces an Ejector Refrigeration system which uses the ejector in place of compressor. Ejector is main part of ERS which use to increase pressure without any moving part. So, the improved system performance will reduce energy consumption. Refrigerant for the ERS is the first selection criteria. The ejector is most important part of Ejector Refrigeration system .so designing of Ejector is the main work in Ejector refrigeration System. Read More...

-Rajat Gupta ; Amit Kumar Singh; Pratyush Awasthi; Shivam Kumar
in this paper, design and fabrication of I.O.T. Based Fire Fighting Robot is discussed. Now a days, fire accidents are very common and sometimes it becomes very difficult for a fireman to save someone’s life. It is not possible to appoint a person to continuously observe for accidental fire where robot can do that. Therefore in such cases firefighting robot comes in picture. Robot will detect fire remotely. These robots are mostly useful in industries where probability of accidental fire is more. The proposed vehicle is able to detect presence of fire and extinguishing it automatically by using smoke sensor and temperature sensor. It contains gear motors and motor driver to control the movement of robot. Relay circuit is used to control the pump and when it will detect fire then it will communicate with microcontroller (Arduino UNO) through Bluetooth module. The proposed robot has a water jet spray which is capable of sprinkling water. The sprinkler can be move towards the required direction. At the time of moving towards the source of fire it may happen that it will come across some obstacles, then it has obstacle avoiding capability because of it has a night vision camera. With the help of camera we can see all obstacles which will come in the way of robot. Communication between the mobile phone and robot will take place with the help of camera because camera is two way operatable which is operate with the help of Bluetooth and I.O.T. Read More...

Formant Frequency Estimation for Speaker
-Aabha Sahu ; Ms. Lakhwinder Kaur
The normal resonant modes of vibration of the vocal tract are called formants. The formant is one of the most important features in speech signals, and is used for many applications, such as speech recognition, speech characterization, and synthesis. Formants frequencies represent the most immediate source of articulatory information and are critical in speech perception. Previous formant extraction methods can largely be classified into spectral peak picking, root extraction, and analysis by synthesis. The spectral peak picking methods and their variants have been widely used for a long time because of low computational complexity, but they often seriously suffer from the peak merger problems, where two adjoining formants are identified into a single one. In this paper, we propose a new formant extraction algorithm that the short term spectral. In the proposed algorithm, the formant candidates are found by using the short term spectral method. It requires a data segment with suitable length such that the harmonics can be resolved and the data within that length should be approximately stationary. Windowing can be done to extract the required length of the data segment. Read More...

-Sneha Santosh Bansode ; Mansi Malunjkar; Nutan Sonawane; Jayesh Jobanputra; Prof. M. T. Dhande
With the increasing number of two-wheeled vehicles, the frequency of accidents is on the rise. Major causes for Accidents are either the rider not wearing a helmet, or he has consumed alcohol and the accident is not reported on time. The person could not be saved because delayed in admittance to a hospital. In this proposed system we proposed a system that can detect an accident, detect the person is wearing a helmet or not and rider is over-consumed alcohol. For this purpose, we use NodeMCU as a Microcontroller and some on board sensors- pressure sensor, MQ-7 sensor, Sensor, Infrared Sensor, and panic button. If the Accident has occurred then the location of the accident is tracked by geolocation API and sends the alert message to the friends with the location of the accident. If a person is not wearing a helmet or over-consumed alcohol then the bike will not be started by stopping the ignition engine of Bike. This system will provide safety to bike rider all the time. Generation of HHO and Its Effect on Engine Performance
-Mahesh Ramesh Kokane ; Mahadeo Macchindra Gadekar; Amit Ramadas Chavan; Shubham Santosh Pandit; Gaikwad Swapnil Nandkishor
This paper is about making an efficient Hydrogen-Hydrogen-Oxygen (HHO) generator, that produces Hydroxy gas which can be used to increase the fuel efficiency in an IC engine. In combustion engine products of combustion expand through a piston in order to generate power so here high pressure products act as a working fluid. Presently there are three types of combustion engines Spark ignition engine, Diesel engine and Turbine engine. In these engines unburned fuel remains in some amount after the burning process. This causes the air pollution which is one of the major challenges for automobile industry. HHO generator is an efficient approach that used to increase the fuel efficiency in a combustion engine by increasing the energy produced per mole of fuel during the ignition process. As a result the amount of unburned fuel in a combustion engine will reduced. The proposed approach is based on an ordinary HHO generator. Although people use HHO generators in practice a very little research has been carried out in implementing an efficient system. In this research we mainly focused on finding an efficient configuration of an ordinary HHO generator that is efficient than an ordinary system. Therefore, such a system will be able to increase the power of a spark ignition engine while reducing the air pollution. Read More...

Effect of Lubricants on Frictional Force Developed on Seals for Turbo Power Appliances
-Nishikant Gopal Patil ; Anil Verma; Dr. G. R. Selokar; Priyanka Jhawar
Mechanical seals were the machine aspect mainly designed to form a running seal between a rotating and stationary part, especially architect to prevent leakages of liquid or gases in centrifugal pumps, mixers, or other rotating equipment’s. The execution and reliability of the mechanicals seals mainly depends on the wide range of factors such as equipment design, operation conditions, pumped or sealed fluid, pressure and pump speed, support system, material characteristics, choice, and pairing of seal faces. This research work presents an investigative study on the frictional characteristics of alumina, 316 stainless steel, and phosphor bronze materials against resin-impregnated carbon in the form of mechanical seals. To study the frictional characteristics of seal an experimental setup was designed for fluctuating normal load and speed. Among three combinations pairing of stationary and rotary seal alumina versus resin-impregnated carbon exhibited the superior frictional characteristics. Whereas in comparison with 316 stainless steel versus resin- impregnated carbon and phosphor bronze versus resin-impregnated carbon, the latter exhibited the better frictional characteristics. Phosphor bronze pair and 316 stainless steel pair resulted in low and stable friction coefficient in the range of 0.07–0.08 and 0.12–0.13, respectively. This work highlights that the phosphor bronze might be an alternate substitute for the applications involving 316 stainless steel as a seal face material, where the frictional characteristics was a major concern. Lubrication plays a major role in reducing friction between the two surfaces. in mechanical seals lubrication reduces friction between interfaces to operate for extended period of time that operate for extended period of time. The use of organic based vegetables oils has increased worldwide due to biodegradable and nontoxic in nature instead of using mineral oil-based lubricants which mostly affected by environmental issues. In this work we go through with experimental study with pairs of seals material (tungsten carbide and resin impregnated carbon) with eco-friendly lubricant from class of vegetable oils— soybean oil and canola oil with an eco-friendly solid lubricant i.e. boric acid powder. The friction characteristics was studied under unlubricated conditions, independent paraffin oil, soybean oil, canola oil lubricating modes and finally 1 wt.%, 3 wt.% and 5 wt.% of boric acid powder mixed individually with soybean and canola oil. After all running-in test of all lubricating conditions, 5 wt.% of boric acid powder mixed with soybean oil had contributed a hybrid tribo film and resulted lowest friction coefficient value in the range of0.06–0.07. A Study and Fabrication of Vortex Tube
-Mr. Laxman P. Khose
Refrigeration plays vital role in developing countries primarily for the preservation of food, medicine and for air conditioning. Conventional refrigeration systems are using Freon as a refrigerant. As they are the main cause for depletion of ozone layer, extensive research work is going on alternate refrigeration systems. Vortex tube is a non-conventional cooling device, having no moving parts which will produce cold air and hot air from the source of compressed air without affecting the environment. An experimental investigation is to be performed in order to realize the behavior of a vortex tube system. In this work attention has to be focused on the classification of parameters affecting vortex tube operation. The effective parameters are divided into two different types, namely geometrical and thermo-physical ones. The reliable test rig is to be designed and constructed to investigate the effect of geometrical parameters like diameter and length of main tube, diameter of outlet orifice, and shape of entrance nozzle. The thermo physical parameters are inlet gas pressure, types of gas, cold gas mass ratio and moisture of inlet gas. Read More...
