The Internet transformed our lives by connecting us more easily to information and other people in the virtual world. Mobile phones then became smart-phones and since then this concept has erupted and morphed into the Internet of Things, things which connect us to everyday objects. There is no end of objects that could be made “smarterâ€, some being more suited to this than others. Mirrors, for example, provide a large surface ideal for displaying information and interacting with. Most people have mirrors at home so the concept of a smart mirror that we can interact with is attractive. The device was to go beyond an ordinary mirror. The device was to look like a regular mirror but would have a screen inside and you would be able to interact with it. The main features would be showing basic weather, location based time information, reminders, calendar, news update, etc. The additional feature in this mirror is to display the youtube window on mirror which plays video of whatever we want using chromecast operation. One more interesting feature is there that is PIR sensor which works as motion sensor .If the person is come infornt of mirror then only mirror will start otherwise the smart mirror act as simply a mirror and the power consumption is also done. Study of Characteristic Changes in Al 7075 Alloy with Addition of Tin
-Abinaya G
In this work the microstructure and mechanical properties were studied on Al7075 alloy with the tin addition as the alloying element in a cast condition. 5% tin was added in Al7075 alloy to study the characteristic changes. The alloy was casted by die casting process in the foundry in required shape. After stir casting, the samples are age hardened and analysed for structural, mechanical and corrosion behaviour. The formed intermetallic compounds (Al₃Cuâ‚â‚‚Sn) retards the grain growth, lead to grain refinement and result in further strengthening effect. The incremental increase in the strength of the cast sample is due to the precipitation hardening and orowan strengthening which are working together. The outcome of this process indicate, that the mechanical strength and Corrosion resistance have been enhanced much better than the parent material. Read More...

Pedestrian Crossing Behaviour between Transport Terminals
-Lekshmi Krishna ; Archana S
Pedestrians need to ensure their safety as they interact with others within a transportation system. There exists a need to gain better understanding of pedestrian behaviours in between transport terminals. When different transportation terminals come closer, there will be an increased pedestrian flow caused due to change in modes used. In this project, pedestrian flow between transport terminals i.e., on a midblock between Thrissur KSRTC bus stand and railway station is captured by video graphic survey. The main aim was to analyse the general pedestrian behaviour while crossing a road and to find out different human factors which affect this behaviour. The crossing patterns were observed and also the chances of conflict with vehicles. The project brought out the fact that the pedestrians always preferred different types of crossings. These varied with the gender and age of the pedestrians and also with luggage carrying or not. There seemed to be a greater flow of pedestrians during the peak hours and then they faced difficulty in crossing due to heavy traffic. Crosswalks are sites where pedestrians face lower levels of road safety, because they have to cross the street and must be aware of incoming traffic. Pedestrian illegal crossing behaviour is a major fact in road safety issue. Thus, there is a requirement to take more steps towards bringing safety. Read More...

Review Paper on the Possibility of NPK Fertilizer Production from Sewage Sludge
-Mr Vijay M. Ingale ; Mr. Akash S. Vaidya; Mr. Shantanu S. Waikar; Prof. V. R. Bankar
Circular Economy (CE) package accepted by the European Union (EU) in December 2015 promotes close-loop flows of materials. The main targets provided in the documents refer to the prevention of waste landfilling, efficient use of resources and energy, as well as re-use waste and by-products. Sewage sludge—residue from Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP)—has a great fertilizer potential and should be recycled in line with the CE strategy. Sewage sludge usage for agricultural purposes seems to be the best sustainable option of its disposal. New EU regulations related to fertilizers derived from bio-waste and by-products assume the uniformity of legislation in Member States and simplification of procedures for introducing innovative fertilizers into the internal market. However, a direct application of sewage sludge to the soil is restricted by heavy metals content. Sewage sludge commonly includes pathogenic microorganisms and toxic compounds. The aim of the study was to determine the state of the art and availability of technology for fertilizers production based on waste, especially on sewage sludge. As sewage sludge from different wastewater treatment plants varies in its chemical composition and physical properties, it is important to find a local solution to the problem of sewage sludge disposal. It has been found that organo-mineral fertilizers (OMFs) derived from sewage sludge and modified by the addition of mineral fertilizers seem to be suitable for application to the soil. Adding acids or alkali agents provide sterilization and binding of the components. Novel OMFs gave a comparable crop yield response as conventional fertilizers. They show a slow release of nutrients, which is the main advantage in relation to mineral fertilizers. Read More...

Acoustic Noise Cancellation using LMS Algorithm on DSP Processor
-Premsing J. Pardeshi ; Abhishek M. Patil; Mayur B. Nadgire; Swati S. Savkare
Filtering data in real time requires dedicated hardware to satisfy demanding time requirements. Here we introduce the adaptive technique applied to acoustic noise cancellation i.e. the LMS (Least Mean Square) algorithm. The LMS algorithm is used to subtract noise from an input audio signal. The LMS adaptive filter uses the noisy signal at the input port and the desired signal (noise free) on the output port to automatically match the filter response. We get noise and original signal separately. Noise signal is error signal which is given as a feedback to adaptive filter to improve its performance. A simulation of the LMS algorithm is done on MATLAB. Further algorithm is implemented on DSP processor TMS320C6748. The proposed methodology is useful to cancel noise from audio signal. The result will be noise free audio signal in the DSP board output. Read More...

Smart Energy grid is one of the advanced features. It monitors energy consumption. The main issue with today’s outdated grid is efficiency. The energy grid becomes overloaded during peak times or seasons. It is also possible to hack the system, and basically, take electricity freely. By using smart grid owner gets daily electricity consumption. One more thing in this project, the data collected from the smart meters should not be accessed by any unauthorized substantives. By using the sensors at energy grid, energy consumption data can be acquired. After acquiring of data, that data can be updated on cloud service, so that the provider can access that data through internet. The major part of this system is load balancing as well as effective utilization of energy. The Internet of Things (IOT) will deliver a smarter grid to enable more information and connectivity throughout the infrastructures. Through the IOT, manufacturers and utility providers will uncover new ways to manage devices and ultimately conserve resources.

In order to compete in the ever growing competent market it is very important for a structural engineer to save time. As a sequel to this an attempt is made to analyze and design a multistoried building by using a software package STADD PRO. As STAAD Pro is the current leading design software in the market, many structural designing companies use this software for their project design purposes. So, this article mainly deals with the analysis of the results obtained from the design of a building structure when it is designed using STAAD Pro Software. The software method of analysis is used for a G+4 Residential building located in Zone-II. The scope behind presenting this work is to learn how relevant Indian standard codes are used for design of various building elements such as beams, columns, slabs, and foundation and stair case by using STAAD Pro package when seismic loads and wind loads are acting on the structure. Earthquakes that occurred in past lead to the complete collapse of the buildings as structures are not well designed and constructed without adequate strength. To ensure safety against seismic forces of building, there is need to study the seismic analysis to design earthquake resistant structures. The present work deals with the analysis of a residential building of G+4 in which the dead load and live loads are applied and the structural design dimensions for beams, columns, footing is obtained. Beams and columns shall be designed as per IS 456:2000 and IS 875 (part1). Read More...

-Shubham Kulkarni ; Pratik Hase; Amol Kuntla; Joel Fernandez
In Medical Industry, mixing is a unit operation that involves manipulation of a heterogeneous physical system with the intent to make it more homogeneous. A blender is a kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix, purée, or emulsify food and other substances. A stationary blender consists of a blender jar with a rotating metal blade at the bottom, powered by an electric motor in the base. A stationary blender consists of a blender jar with a rotating metal blade at the bottom, powered by an electric motor in the base. At an industrial scale, efficient mixing can be difficult to achieve. A great deal of engineering effort goes into designing and improving mixing processes. Mixing at industrial scale is done in batches (dynamic mixing), inline or with help of static mixers. Gearboxes are used to reduce speed and increase torque. Some applications require the use of multi-shaft mixers, in which combinations of mixer types are used to completely blend the product. Blending is very important part in our food industry. Mixing of powders is of great importance in food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. However, direct online measurement of mixing is impractical due to difficulties in real-time particle sampling. Blenders are blade grinders designed specifically for use with wet ingredients. Blenders are popular tools for production of purées and pastes, using both the cutting and shearing effects of high speed blades. Read More...

Arc Fault and Flash Signal Analysis of DC Distribution System Using MATLAB Simulink
-Afrin Salim Sheikh ; D.B.Waghmare
An arc fault is a discharge of electrical energy through the air. Under normal operation two conductors are connected and the flow of electrons passes through the essentially zero resistance path. If the connection is corroded or impure, it will have resistance and heat is generated. Over time the heat will wear down the contact and result in small arcs between connections. These arcs begin as low current faults, but given enough time they have the potential to breakdown to another phase or ground conductor resulting in a dangerous high current fault. In this paper, a new approach using WT base spectral energy calibration for arc fault analysis and classification with Fuzzy Logic Controller in dc systems is projected. In this approach we were design a cassie arc model for representation of practical arc condition. The arc voltage was analyzed using wavelet analysis and that feature of wavelet then utilized for design fuzzy rule base data. The method of detection associate arc fault involves solar PV output voltage analysis and so feature identification. This complete system was implemented and tested in MATLAB simulink 2015 atmosphere. Read More...

Antimicrobial Nonwoven Technical Textiles Applications
-Aniket Bhute ; Dr. S. B. Vhanbatte
Technical Textiles are more than everyday clothing, mainly used for a performance or special function. Non-woven is a globally young industry and with its specialty to cater to special applications, it has an exclusive market. Non-woven is replacing the use of conventional textiles in many applications due to low cost, more convenient to use, serves the purpose and can be tailor-made. While in use of nonwovens for various applications such as sleeping bags liners, jackets liners, automotive air conditioner, shoe insoles, building and construction, geo-textiles, mattress etc. a bacteria, fungi and dust mites can get developed over it and create problems, cause many different issues. They mainly create an odors in intimate and athletic wear, mattress, automotive AC, floor carpets, shoe insoles, medical environments, cause allergic reactions, and can be responsible for stains in upholstery and other household items. The World Health Organization has classified allergens as the fourth most common chronic illness worldwide. This is because more and more people today suffer from allergic reactions. The pollen, bacteria and mold fungi continue to further penetrate our everyday life, and also in the car. The antimicrobial nonwovens a bacterial development over the fabric surface will be restricted and a problem of odors in various applications of nonwoven can be addressed easily. Also it will promise freshness, stain protection and an extended product life, even for heavy-duty outdoor applications. Read More...

Automated Illegal Parking Tracing System
-KHUMBO CHITSIME MLANGA ; Rehan Khan
An enormous number of work forces are sent to check for unapproved stopping and fine those proprietors. Be that as it may, proprietors dodge the fine by different unlawful methods like renumerating the staff, compromising them and so on. Towing vans need to physically scan for unlawfully left vehicles. This framework requires huge overhead expenses in labor installment, fuel and other physical reconnaissance. Here we propose a framework that takes into account programmed illicit stopping discovery and alarming. The framework comprises of incorporating an RFID transmitter in each vehicle. RFID beneficiary circuit is mounted on each zone where stopping is denied. In the event that a vehicle is left in a territory where leaving is disallowed the RFID transmitter comes in rang of the recipient circuit. When this happens the RFID reader peruses the transmitter Id and can quickly caution authority with zone code so specialists can legitimately land at the spot and sends a SMS to the vehicle proprietor about the fine forced on the vehicle.
