A Comparative Study on Mechanical Properties of Conventional Mortar and Engineered Cementitious Composite
-A. Vijayakumar
Engineered Cementitious Composites abbreviated as ECC (also called Bendable concrete and Flexible concrete). The bending strength or tensile capacity of flexible concrete is in the range of 10 to 15 MPa and compressive strength is up to 70 MPa. It has a self-healing property as the cement particles make reaction with the rain water and makes some complex product that expands and fill the micro cracks that are developed in the flexible concrete. The flexible concrete is proved to be lighter and also proved to be 500 times more flexible than normal concrete. Its ultimate tensile strain capacity is 3 to 5 %. Due to this the concrete is act like a flexible material such as metal. Poly vinyl alcohol fiber (PVA) is added up to 2% to enhance flexibility. A bendable concrete is composed of all the ingredients of a Conventional Mortar plus Fly ash and is reinforced with micromechanically designed poly vinyl alcohol fibers. ECC is class of ultra-ductile fiber reinforced cementitious composites, characterized by high ductility and tight crack width control. A Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber is considered as one of the most suitable polymeric fibers to be used as the reinforcement of engineered cementitious composites (ECC), showing an extensive strain hardening behaviour of the composites, can be used to reduce resources and funds for rehabilitation of structure. Experimental Study of Soil Subgrade When Stabilized with Rice Husk Ash and Polypropylene
-Pooja Sen ; Ragini Mishra
Pavement quality depends upon on the potency of the land. Intensity level of sub grade is the big parameter for estimating the thickness of pavement. In case of pavement the sub-form should be uniform in terms of Geotechnical properties like shear strength, compressibility etc. Construction of pavement could be natural soil which can likewise be expanded, clayey or organic. Natural soils, suffer volume amendment due to wet content that causes heaving, cracking and the break-up of the road paving. As a result of this reason, stabilization of those sorts of soil is significant, to suppress swelling and increase the effectiveness of the land. The rising price of traditional stabilizing agents and the indigence for the economical utilization of industrial and agricultural wastes for beneficial engineering purposes has prompted an investigation into the stabilizing potential of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) and Polypropylene (PP) in subgrade soil. The aim of this study is to utilize the effectiveness of Rice Husk Ash and Polypropylene material to enhance the attributes of natural soil used for subgrade material in pavement. The soil was stabilized different percentages (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 & 30) of RHA and after obtaining an optimum part of RHA, PP with percentage of 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%, is appended along with RHA individually, for the structure of sub grade soil and test like Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Plasticity Index, Specific Gravity, Optimum Moisture Content, Maximum Dry Density, Swelling Pressure and CBR are performed. Improving Boiler Efficiency by Using Economizer
-Rohit Prabhakarrao Sarode ; Gagan Malik; Yogesh Choudhary; Pravinkumar Wankhade
The steam generating using a boiler is widely utilized in industry and power plants. A big portion of the worlds energy consumption is getting used in boilers. A small improvement within the efficiency of the boiler will help save an outsized amount of fuel and also help to reduce CO2 emissions. Therefore in this paper, we concentrated an approach toward the improvement of boiler efficiency by recovering a portion of the heat content of the flue gas. This is possible due to the most dominant device means an economizer. A boiler economizer works on the principle of heat transfer i.e., this device is nothing but a heat exchanger that uses the remaining energy of flue gas to heat the inlet water to the boiler. The recovered heat can also be utilized to preheat boiler feed-water, combustion air, or some other applications. Economizers also increasing the efficiency of the boiler will save you a lot of operating costs and eventually extend the life of the boiler system. Read More...

-Aditya Pandey ; Abhishek Gaur
In Footstep Power Generation, we proposed a power generation technique through piezo sense control generator framework that uses the piezoelectric sensors to sustainable power source that we can get while strolling on a specific course of action like venturing foot on a piezo tiles Nowadays energy and power are some of the basic requirements of this modern world. We can implement this leg phase power generation system by generating additional power by heat and it can be achieved by the load. Here we make use of the piezoelectric sensor on which when pressure is applied, voltage is generated. Depending on the voltage requirement the number of sensors can be increased. This can be used directly to small appliances or can be stored in a battery and then be used. We should study the current methods of footstep power generation which are rack and pinion arrangement and piezoelectric crystals and are about to modify the existing system. Role of Teacher Educator in Inclusive Education in 21st Century
-Sarita Bhushan
From the very beginning, disabled children were considered unwanted and not treated like other children due to lack of knowledge, educational access and technology. After some time education was done in special schools. In present times there has been a drastic change towards disabled children. They joined the same schools where normal students go. Now educationists felt that every child has a right to learn according to his own will. With the Salamanca statement, inclusive education has been spread everywhere. It stated that Governments have to adopt inclusive education as a law where all children enrolled in regular schools. In inclusive education, we required skilled and competent teachers who are skillful to tackle the problem in the classrooms. Due to the lack of competent teachers, the dream of inclusive education cannot be fulfilled. Inadequate training of the teachers is one of the leading factors in the failure of the inclusive programs. The administration should organize in-service training for success of inclusive education. These training are arranged by DIETs, CTEs, IASEs and other national level institutes. But this is not possible without the help of teacher. With more competent, skilled and confident teachers the inclusive education has a very positive impact on the community people. It also helps in increasing the attendance of disabled children in regular school and it also contributes the growth and development of the society. Another important thing is that curriculum in during pre-service teacher education is not sufficient to fulfill the special education needs of differently able children. Therefore, teachers were incapable to fulfill the demands to modify the curriculum. Now in recent times, the teachers himself demands for the training for getting perfection in giving inclusive education. Read More...

Three Dimensional CFD Simulation of Two -Row Plain Fin & Tube and Heat Exchanger
-Rahul Singh ; Prof. Amol Tripathi
Three-dimensional CFD simulations are carried out to investigate heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics of a two-row plain fin-and-tube heat exchanger using ANSYS FLUENT. Heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the heat exchanger are investigated for Reynolds numbers ranging from 330 to 7200. Model geometry is created, meshed, calculated, and post-processed using ANSYS Workbench. Fluid flow and heat transfer are simulated and results compared using both laminar and turbulent flow models (k-epsilon, and SST k-omega), with steady-state solvers to calculate pressure drop, flow, and temperature fields. Model validation is carried out by comparing the simulated case friction factor f and Colburn j factor with experimental results from the literature. For friction factor determination, little difference is found between the flow models simulating laminar flow, while in transitional flow, the laminar flow model produced the most accurate results and the k-omega SST turbulence model was more accurate in turbulent flow regimes. The results of simulations for heat transfer in laminar flow using the laminar flow model are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results, while heat transfer in transitional flow is best represented with the SST k-omega turbulence model, and heat transfer in turbulent flow is more accurately simulated with the k-epsilon turbulence model. Reasonable agreement is found between the simulations and experimental data, and the ANSYS FLUENT software has been sufficient for simulating the flow fields in tube-fin heat exchangers. Read More...

Static Structural Analysis of a Four-Wheeler Disc Brake Using Different Materials on ANSYS- A Review Study
-Vinit Kumar Mishra ; Ranjeet Kumar; Dr. R.S. Sikarwar
Braking system is an important component in any automobile. Whenever any automobile is in moving condition we need some system to stop or decelerate the vehicle as & when rush appears or pits appear in the road. Braking system is employed for this vary role. Brakes of different types but for study I have considered disc brake rotor here. Vehicle to be selected is an Audi TT Mk3 Coupe. Conventionally Gray cast iron has been used for manufacturing the disc brake rotors but it is accompanied by a large weight which in turn increases the overall weight of vehicle. This increased weight increases the losses occurring in the vehicle during movement. It also reduces the brake efficiency. To counter these two problems we must go for some other materials which can have lower weight & higher tensile strength, compressive strength etc. In this particular study six different materials have been tried & tested. These materials are Aluminium wrought, Aluminium alloy, aluminium alloy NL, carbon fibre, carbon epoxy UD, Carbon E-Glass epoxy UD. These materials have been analysed for equivalent (von-Mises) stress, total deformation, maximum principal stress & stress intensity. In the end a comparative analysis has been presented. In order to develop the model of disc brake rotor for conducting analytical solution in software, CATIA V5-6 R2017 software will be used to develop the model & ANSYS 19.2 will be used to analyse the model. Static Structural Analysis of a Flywheel-Shaft Assembly Using Shrink Fitting for Static & Dynamic Conditions- A Review Study
-Yejvander Thakur ; Ranjeet Kumar; Dr. R.S. Sikarwar
Manufacturing & production industry is driven by heavy machinery being employed on large scale in order to meet the requirements of today’s world. It has to carry out the production and manufacturing work day in and day out to match the ever-increasing demands from different sectors of the society. Here the machinery components need to work more than their rated capacity which sometimes causes severe failure and damages in components. Because of the large-scale competition which is present today in this industry, machinery components are not even allowed to fail. Rotating components play an important role in any machinery & they are very sensitive to handle. One key feature of the rotating components is how we connect two components which are in rotation with each other. Normally to connect two components we use fitting methods which are of mechanical type fitting & shrink fitting. In this dissertation we are analyzing the effects of shrink fitting between a shaft and flywheel when flywheel is mounted over the shaft using shrink fitting. The process parameters to be used will be hoop stress, radial interference, torque capacity and strain. The calculations will be done for standstill condition, rated RPM & runaway RPMs of the machinery components. The study would be completed in two steps. In first step, data will be calculated analytically using previous literature, empirical relations or mathematical calculations using formulae provided by reference books of respective subjects. Then in second step to validate the data a finite element simulation of the component assembly will be performed on ANSYS-19.0 workbench with 3D model of the assembly being created in PTC Creo 6.0.0.0/CATIA V5 R20. The results of both kinds of analysis will be compared with each other & hence a comparative analysis will also be performed. Read More...

Comparative Analysis of the Suspension System of Automobile Using Different Materials on ANSYS
-Rajeev Singh ; Ranjeet Kumar; Dr. R.S. Sikarwar
Suspension system plays an important role in any automobile. Suspension system counters the jerk & pits whenever we run the vehicle on the road. Suspension system for the cars and trucks is made up of leaf spring. In leaf spring we have 5-6 leaves of any metal normally cast iron placed one over other in order to counter the jerk during traction. Now since the Leaf spring is made up of cast iron, it consists of a lot of weight which affects the efficiency of traction adversely. Because of its weight it can carry several other factors which are significant in reducing the speed & efficiency of the vehicle. So, to counter this adverse effect a new kind of composite materials are being tried now a days so that the overall weight reduction may be achieved with ease. The variety of composite materials includes Carbon epoxy, E-glass Epoxy carbon, Carbon fibre etc. These materials are quite lighter in weight than the cast iron so we need to check them for other type of responses except weight. Hence, we need to compare the cast iron with these composite materials. For the comparison a cast iron leaf spring will be designed using mathematical formulae & then this design will be validated using ANSYS 19.2 workbench. After validating the mathematically calculated results with ANSYS 19.2 results we will go for composite material leaf springs & similar kind of analysis will be run on these materials too. Performance and Comparison Analysis of Speed Control of Induction Motor using Improved Hybrid PID-Fuzzy Controller
-Sartaj Singh ; Navdeep Singh
It is difficult to control the speed of an induction motor. The speed control relies on the electric power factor offered to the motor. Many researchers have performed a significant number of studies to enhance the mechanism of vector control. They have used different controllers such as PI (Proportional Integral), PD (proportional derivative), Fuzzy-PI, Fuzzy PID (Proportional Integral derivative). In this paper, a novel approach is developed which used hybrid controller. This controller is developed by the amalgamation of Fuzzy type-2 and PID controller. Fuzzy type-2 has various advantages over type-1 fuzzy which overcome the limitations of the traditional system. A literature survey is given with the detailed information of the works done in this field. The mechanism is developed by taking into consideration different parameters such as rise time, settling time and overshoot. The proposed model is analysed using MATLAB. Simulation results showed the better efficiency of the novel controller. Is observed that, developed controller reduced the time required by the motor to achieve its target speed, thus, gives excellent outcome. Read More...

Secure Reversible Data in Encrypted JPEG Image Compression with Proposed Modulo Pixel Component Selection Method
-Anukriti Saxena ; prof. ravimohan
Data hiding is the art of hiding data for various purposes such as--- to maintain private data, secure confidential data. Well known technique is the Steganography; Steganography has evolved into a digital strategy of hiding a file in some form of multimedia, such as an image, an audio file or even a video file. This paper presents a new Steganography technique, In this paper, we propose a new high-capacity reversible data hiding method for JPEG-compressed images. This method is based on modifying the quantization table and quantized discrete cosine transformation (DCT) coefficients. Some elements of the quantization table are divided by an integer while the corresponding quantized DCT coefficients are multiplied by the same integer and added by an adjustment value to make space for embedding the data. By analyzing the effect of each single quantized DCT coefficient on the image quality, an embedding sequence is chosen in order to help control the increase of file size after hiding the data meanwhile the PSNR value between the original uncompressed image and stego JPEG image is high. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves both high capacity and high image quality. Read More...

DDOS Attack Detection and Mitigation using SDN
-ADKE GURUDUTT ; Soundattikar Kamakshi; K. S. Charumathi
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a new approach for the design and management of computer networks. The main concept behind SDN is the separation of the network’s control and forwarding planes with the control plane moved to the centralized controller. In SDN networks with the centralized controller structure DDoS attacks can easily exhaust the computing and communication resources, thus, breaks down the network within a short time. Since SDN networks are used mainly in large data centres with many switches, it is critical to also find the targeted parts of the network through the detection process. This will reduce the time required to carry out a mitigation measure. Controllers are usually designed with backups and also are very powerful devices with huge amounts of memory but the resources in the switches are much more limited. This makes the switches to be more susceptible against these types of attacks and hence it is very important to have quick provisional methods in place to prevent the switches from breaking down as soon as the first signs of an attack are detected. It is also very important to design the detection method as lightweight as possible to prevent putting any extra load on the controller. Read More...

A Secure and Reliable Data Transfer Using Vander Monde Matrix-Based Scalable Data Aggregation Protocol
-Kawsalya. S ; Sangeetha. S; Divyabharathi. S
A data aggregation protocol named VSDA to mitigate the issues brought about by scaling-up a WSN situation. Enlivened by CS-based plans, VSDA additionally encodes crude data of sensor hubs with weight vector, and interprets the crude data at the sink hub with the estimation matrix which is framed by weight vectors. Coding-based data aggregation protocol is to develop a weight/estimation matrix for the application situation. From that point forward, the sink hub appoints the section of the matrix, which is treated as the weight vector during the encoding procedure, to every sensor hub separately. In any case, for a unique situation where the quantity of sensor hubs changes as often as possible, the current methodologies need to reconfigure the system by recovering the estimation matrix and apportioning the new weight vectors for all the current hubs, which causes an impressive vitality utilization and influences the normal checking errands. To tackle this issue a Vander monde matrix-based scalable data aggregation protocol (VSDA), which protects the benefits of coding-based plans and addresses the issues referenced previously. In VSDA, as new hubs join into the scaled up organize, the first weight vectors claimed by the first hubs dont have to recover the weight vectors completely yet include some new passages without anyone elses input by any means. CFD Analysis of Solar Air Heater Duct Having Broken Double Arc Shaped Ribs Combined with Staggered Rib Piece on Absorber Plate
-Shani Deshmukh ; Dr. S K Nagpure
In this paper results of CFD analysis on heat transfer and friction in rectangular ducts roughened with broken double arc-rib roughness combined with staggered rib piece has been presented. The rib roughness has relative gap position of 0.65, relative staggered rib position of 0.6, relative staggered rib size of 2.0, and relative roughness pitch of 10, arc angle of 30° and relative roughness height of 0.043. The relative gap width was varied from 0.5 to 2.5. The effects of relative gap width on Nusselt number, friction factor and thermo-hydraulic performance parameter have been discussed and results compared with smooth duct under similar conditions. Thus, the broken double arc shaped with stagger ribs with different relative gap width, when compared with the smooth and rough ribs with symmetrical gaps, it was concluded that the related Nusselt Number and friction factor for broken double arc shaped with stagger ribs with different relative gap width was more efficient as well as economical, than that of smooth and rough ribs with symmetrical gaps for flow Reynolds Number. The smooth ribs could not transfer the desired heat due to absence of friction; so, they are not preferred practically. One of the most important techniques used are passive heat transfer technique. These techniques when adopted in heat transfer surfaces proved that the overall thermal performance improved signiï¬cantly. Rib roughness on the underside of the top wall of a duct has been found to substantially enhance the heat transfer coefficient. Surface roughness disturbs the laminar sub-layer in the turbulent flow and promotes local wall turbulence that, in turn, increases the heat transfer from the surfaces. The augmentation in heat transfer accompanies a higher pressure drop penalty of the fluid flow. In this work the maximum value is found to be relative gap width is 1.0. Read More...

Research Study on Self Curing Concrete by using Recycled Aggregate
-Konnoju Saikumar Chary ; Pokala Adithya
We don’t imagine any kind of structure without concrete in the present world. It is because of its good compressive strength and durability. The concrete needs 28 days curing to achieve the maximum strength. Lack of proper curing can badly affect the strength and durability. Self-curing concrete is one type of modern concrete, which cure itself by retaining water (moisture content) in it. Generally, in structures like columns the water in the upper part of the structure may evaporate easily when compared to the bottom part. Then structure needs some more water for proper curing. This may increase in the amount of usage of water and if proper curing is not done by the worker that may results into a failure to get the adequate results. So to avoid this self-curing concrete is introduced into the concrete structures to reduce the amount of usage of water while curing. These Concrete needs self-curing agents. The self-curing agents are used to reduce the water evaporation from concrete, and hence increase the water retention capacity of the concrete compared to conventional concrete. The use of self-curing admixtures is very important from the point of view that water resources are getting valuable every day. To achieve proper curing agents like poly ethylene glycol, wax etc. are used as a self curing agent. The main objective of proposed project work is to use the water soluble polymeric glycol as self-curing agent and to decide the optimum dosage for different conditions. In this study water retention, compacting factor and compressive strength of concrete containing self-curing agent is investigated and compared with conventional curing. Concrete weight loss with time was carried out in order to evaluate the water retention ability for different dosages of self-curing agent and for different conditions. This study includes the comparison of natural coarse aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate of different dosages of self-curing agent and for different conditions. Read More...

Effects of Human Hair and Waste Tyre Rubber Fibers on Concrete
-Ishfaq Ahmad Lone ; Mr. Ajay Singh Thakur
Concrete is mainly used in cases where we need to resist compressive forces as concrete is stronger in compression but relatively weaker in tension. This weakness in concrete can be mitigated by using fibres as reinforcement in the concrete mix. Waste materials in the form of human hair and tyre rubber cause environmental pollution. Hair and waste tyre rubber can be recycled and used effectively in the concrete as reinforcement in fibre form. In this work first human hair content viz., 0%, 1.5% & 3%, by weight of cement for M30 grade concrete were studied by determining the strength properties (compressive, tensile and flexural strength) at3, 7 and 28 days, respectively. The trends showed that there is significant increase in compressive strength (4.9 %) at around 1.5% human hair content which then shows a decreasing trend (~ 2.4% at 3% human hair content) on further increase in human hair content. Then an approximate optimum percentage of human hair content (~ 1.5% by weight of cement in this study) that yielded better mechanical properties namely, compressive, tensile and flexural strength than the conventional concrete (control mix) has been chosen. Human hair content of 1.5 % by weight of cement is mixed with different rubber content of 1.5 %, 3% and 4.5 % by volume of concrete to study the mechanical properties of the concrete at 3,7 days and 28 days. By testing of cubes, beams and cylinders, a significant increase in flexural strength (~8.9 % increase) and tensile strength (~5.7% increase) of concrete was observed due to the addition of human hair and tyre rubber as fibre reinforcement. However there is a decrease in compressive strength though not so much significant (~2% decrease). Read More...

Effect of Welding Parameters on MS using SMAW - A Review
-Rishabh Yadav ; Jay Chavda; Vivek Rana; Keyur Makwana; Mahebub Vohra
In this study, on effect of welding parameters such as welding current, welding voltage, arc gap, welding speed is to be considered on mild steel specimen which is welded by Shield Metal arc welding (SMAW. Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process is one of the most commonly employed material joining processes utilized in the various industrial sectors such as marine, ship-building, automotive, aerospace, construction and petrochemicals etc. The increasing pressure on manufacturing sector wants the welding process to be sustainable in nature. The SMAW process incorporates several types of inputs and output streams. The sustainability concerns associated with SMAW process are linked with the various input and output streams such as electrical energy requirement, input material consumptions, slag formation, fumes emission and hazardous working conditions associated with the human health and occupational safety. Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or the conventional arc welding process is particularly dominant in structural joints, pressure vessels and in maintenance and repair work. This process is widely used in many industrial applications due to its versatility, simplicity and indoor and outdoor applicability. A certain level of operational skills is needed in performing the SMAW process in order to obtain a quality weldment. Further, input process parameters such as current, voltage, arc gap, welding speed, electrode orientation, etc. play a vital role in the quality of the weldment. This research especially addresses and simulate mild steel in arc welding, covering industrial applications including small scale industries. Read More...
