Analysis of a Cable Stayed Bridge with Different Arrangement of Cable and Pylon Types
-Kartikay Nayak ; Hitesh Kodwani
Cable stayed bridges are similar to the suspended bridge i.e. it has towers and a deck that is held by using cables, but its cables keep the deck through connecting it immediately to the towers as a substitute via suspender cables. It normally carries pedestrians, bicycles, cars, vans, and mild rail. It has more than one tower also called pylons, through which cables guide the bridge deck. A one-of-a-kind feature is the cables which run immediately from the tower to the deck, generally forming a fan-like pattern or a chain of parallel strains. That is in evaluation to the modern-day suspension bridge, wherein the cables assisting the deck are suspended vertically from the principle cable, anchored at both ends of the bridge and running between the towers. The cable-stayed bridge is most useful for spans longer than cantilever bridges and shorter than suspension bridges. However it is the range where cantilever bridges would develop heavier if the span has been lengthened; at the same time as suspension bridge cabling might not be more in economical aspect if the span had been shortened. In this study we are analysing a 500 m long cable stayed bridge with different cable or pylon type arrangement using analysis tool staad. In this research work we are analysing the loading conditions as per conventional (manual) method. Here it is concluded that with respect to the shape of tower we noticed that H shape pylon shows low amount of sag and moment in the cables and in the deck because it has more number of joints which are not uniform so that the concentration of stress and tension carrying capacity of the cables was not effectively distributed to the other parts of the cable which may lead to maximum concentration in some cables, when compared to circular which has homogeneous member. Optimization of Hybrid (Bolt-Adhesive) Lap Joint
-Mr. Sachin Pokharkar ; Hredeya Mishra
The objective of this study is to find a better joint configuration which has more strength with minimum added weight. Hybrid joining is the principle of combining different joining technologies. Here, Mechanical fastener and adhesive are used together. Use of a mechanical fastener in hybrid joint is a fail-safe design, but it is an added weight to the structure. Because fastener did not contribute to tensile strength until the adhesive fails. Hence attachments are used to alternate the load paths to the fastener and utilizing the fastener to provide strength to the joint once the joint was loaded. Numerical analysis is carried out to optimize the added curve attachment on conventional hybrid lap joint. Hybrid lap joint with curve attachments of different load transfer angles are designed and analyzed to find a better joint configuration. The analysis results shows that the hybrid joint with the curve attachment of load transfer distance to height ratio of 4 (14 degree) provides the maximum load transfer to the fastener and has the higher strength than other lap joint configurations. -Nilesh R. Budukhale ; Prof. V. A Vyavhare; Prof. A. V. Mohod
A single phase grid-connected converter is usually adopted in low power renewable systems. This paper deals with a review of the state of the art of multi level topologies and a theoretical power loss comparison with the proposed solution is compared. The proposed converter architecture is based on a full-bridge topology with two additional power switches and two diodes connected to the midpoint of the dc link. Since the two added levels are obtained by the discharge of the two capacitors of the dc link, the balancing of the midpoint voltage is obtained with a specific pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy, Multilevel converters have been under research and development for found successful industrial application. This is still a technology under development and many new contributions and new commercial topologies have been reported in the last few years advances made in modulation and control of multilevel converters are also addressed. A great part of this paper is devoted to show nontraditional applications powered by multilevel converters and how multilevel converters are becoming an enabling technology in many industrial sectors. Durability and Strength of Lime Sludge by Partial Replacement of Cement
-Mr. G. Duraisamy ; Mr. Y. Shantharam
Concrete is a composite construction material composed of aggregate, cement and water. There are many formulations that have varied properties. The aggregate is generally coarse gravel or crushed rocks such as lime stone or granite, along with a fine aggregate such as sand. The cement commonly Portland cement and other cementitious materials such fly ash and slag cement, serve as a binder for the aggregate. Various chemical admixtures are also added to achieve varied properties. Water is then mixed with this dry composite which enables it to be shaped and then solidified and hardened into rock-hard strength through a chemical process called hydration. The water reacts with the cement which bonds the other components together, eventually creating a robust stone-like material. Lime sludge is generated from paper, acetylene, sugar, fertilizer, sodium chromate, soda ash industries, and water softening plants. Approximately 4.5 million tons of sludge in total is generated annually from these industries. It is extracted by the precipitators in the smokestacks of coal-burning power plants to reduce pollution. About 120 coals based thermal power stations in India are producing about 112 million tonne per year. In the present study, concrete cubes have been cast by Partial replacement of cement with various percentage lime sludge. The method adopted in this investigation is as per the IS code specifications. Read More...

-Arunkumar G ; Mr. Santhosh Kumar
Renewable energy technologies gives us much cleaner, abundant energy gathered from self-renewing resources such as the sun, wind etc. Increase in power demand leads to increase in powerfailure. Hence, renewable energy sources acts as constant load provider. A converter topology for hybrid wind/photovoltaic energy system is proposed. In reality, combining both solar and wind power sources provides us with much needed power generation. By using Renewable energies we have getting advantages of nil fuel cost and environmental impacts got reduced. In this paper, we will see a SEPIC converter topology is used for the hybrid power sources. Two inputs, one from wind energy and another from solar PV panel are given to the converter and maximum power is extracted by using fuzzy logic maximum power point tracking method. Depending on the availability of the energy sources this configuration allows two sources to supply the load separately or simultaneously. The output is given to inverter which converts dc to ac and then applied load. This hybrid energy is given to the three phase inverter. It will convert that DC voltage into AC voltage. This AC voltage is given to the load. The sinusoidal PWM technique is applied to the inverter to control the output voltage and the Fuzzy controller compensates reactive power in the grid. Simulation is carried out in MATLAB/ SIMULINK. Here in this paper, we will prove that fuzzy based controller is best for controlling the production and supplying of power in the bus by comparing with other controllers namely PI, Hysrterisis. Now a days the smart attendance management system using face detection techniques. Daily attendance marking is a common and important activity in schools and colleges for checking the performance of students. Manual Attendance maintaining is difficult process, especially for large group of students. Some automated systems developed to overcome these difficulties, have drawbacks like cost, fake attendance, accuracy, intrusiveness. To overcome these drawbacks, there is need of smart and automated attendance system. We are implementing attendance system using face recognition. Since face is unique identity of person, the issue of fake attendance and proxies can be solved. The system uses local binary pattern face recognition technique as it is fast, simple and has greater success rate. Also, it has pro-vision to deal with intensity of light problem and head pose problem which makes it effective. This smart system can be an effective way to maintain the will-less squatter recognition system is proposed based on appearance-based features that focus on the un shorten squatter image rather than local facial features. The rest step in squatter recognition system is squatter detection Viola-Jones upper detection rates is used. The whole squatter recognition process can be divided into two parts squatter detection and squatter identification. For face detection part, Viola Jones face detection method has been used out of several face detection methods. After face detection, face is cropped from the actual image to remove the background. Eigen faces and sher faces methods have been used for face identification part. Average images of subjects have been used as training set to improve the accuracy of identification. Read More...

-Prof. Prashant G. Ahire ; Shuchi Maheshwari Mishra; Sudakshina Palit; Sampada Dhore; Anjali Lokare
With the advance of computing and technology, manual systems are getting replaced. The purpose of the system is to automate the existing manual system with the help of a web application so that valuable data can be stored for a longer period and can be accessed and manipulated easily. This system can lead to a fast management system, reliable, secure, and error-free. The organization can maintain computerized training, performance and personal records of employees without redundant entries. It can also handle session registration, instructor-led training administration, tracking, and reporting. The system generates a monthly calendar of the training schedule that is which training has been planned on which date and when it has been executed. On the basis of which a notification is sent to the employee about the training. After the execution of the training, the employee receives a feedback form on his feedback about the training and his future actions. The performance of the employee is evaluated by his/her reporting manager in the feedback form itself on the basis of which a graph is generated. The system also calculates the total duration of training taken and generates a monthly graph on the basis of the man-days. Read More...

The population of the world is increasing rapidly. In order to fulfill their diet needs the production of food must be increased, but this must come at a cost affordable to everyone. Mechanization of agriculture enables conservation of inputs by precision in ensuring better distribution, reducing quantity required for better response or prevention of losses or waste of inputs applied. Mechanization reduces unit costs of production through higher productivity levels and the input conservation. The all agriculture equipment’s often are hardly modernized due to its low productivity. In India farming is done by traditional ways, besides that there has been large development of industrial and service sector as compared to that of agriculture sector. The spraying of pesticides and insecticides is traditionally done by farm worker carrying backpack type sprayer which requires more human effort. Giving attention to these important problems an attempt is made to develop an equipment which will be beneficial to the farmer for the spraying operations. This equipment is easy to use and operate. It makes use reciprocating pump that creates the required pressure for the spraying action. This multifunction device will come in handy that can be put to use in different spraying stages of farming as per process requirement. Read More...

Thermal Performance Improvement of Domestic Refrigerator with Latent Thermal Energy Storage System
-Nilesh Bajirao Kamble ; Akshay Vishnu Jori; Somesh Sureshrao Patil; Sourabh Dhansing Gaikwad; Mr. Rajendra P. Patil
The report presents theoretical studies and experimental investigation was carried out to improve the thermal performance of a domestic refrigerator with latent thermal storage system, highlighting the advantages of use of phase change material (PCM) associated with the evaporator. Phase change materials (PCM) are substances with high latent heat content that freeze and melt at a nearly constant temperature, accumulating or releasing large amounts of energy during the process. The desired working model of domestic refrigerator using (PCM) phase change material is successfully designed and fabricated. It is also successfully tested for working. With PCM, the air temperature is kept constant at 10°C for 12 hours, compared to without PCM where the air temperature rises continuously and rises above 10°C in just 1 hour. As the PCM melts, it absorbs the thermal load that enters the cold storage space, thus limiting the rise in the temperature and maintains a constant temperature inside the cabin during loss of electricity, which may occur due to an accidental power loss or done purposely to achieve electrical load shifting. The analysis of the experiment exemplifies the improvement of a conventional refrigeration system’s COP (Coefficient of performance) considerably. Read More...

During the last 3 decades, world wide web has been filled with so many resources from so many topics. So many organizations and personals avail their data and knowledge using websites and various social media platforms. Information regarding any topic is available by searching with keywords on various search engines. Mostly when user search for any product, service or any other information; search engines provides the result based on keywords and rank the result based on matching score of various keywords and other keyword related methods. In most of cases user gets the same result by searching the same query in a particular search engine. There is a scope to re rank the result for every user based on his own profile and users own criteria. Every common result may not be same useful for each user in general way. During our research work we have tried to identify the user behaviour and used the same user behaviour parameter in his next search result. We have expanded the query based on his profile and re-ranked the result. After evaluation we have got significant improvement in data retrieval compared to existing system. Read More...

IoT based Ambulance and Automatic Traffic Control System
-Pavan Belhekar ; Prof. Yogeshchandra Puranik
The existing time based traffic management system is the one which is not suitable and not flexible for the present day traffic. There are various reasons for this traffic congestion. One of these is the rapid growth of the population. As a result of this, the number of cars is increasing annually. This causes problems for the ambulance to reach the hospital on the right time. However, traditional traffic control signals fails in time management, as it allocates equal time slots to each road it is managing. This create the unnecessary waiting for emergency vehicle like ambulance, fire service. Now a day many lifes are being expired before the person reaches the hospital in ambulance. To overcome this delay in ambulance this paper describes a solution that is “IOT based Ambulance and Automatic Traffic Control System†which includes the basic information and condition of patient is collected in the ambulance by the means IOT (Internet of Things) and make it available to hospital before ambulance reaches the hospital. Tracking mechanism with automatic traffic light controlling system that clear the path for ambulance automatically. The information reading the current as well as future location of ambulance is sent from the ambulance itself. This information is used to optimally control the traffic. This System allows us to avoid the delay of ambulance in traffic signal and reach to hospital on time to save the life. Read More...

-Jaskirat Singh Bindra ; Kushagr Aggarwal; Niviya Dahiya; Yogesh Sharma
In the field of Artificial Intelligence, on one hand, scientists have made many enhancements that helped a lot in the development of millions of smart devices. On the other hand, scientists brought a revolutionary change in the field of word processing and one of the biggest challenges in it is to identify the preceding words and actually suggest succeeding words that conform to semantic rules of the given language. One of the most widely used techniques for the validity of these types of document is Natural Language Processing. Natural Language Processing is a subfield of artificial intelligence concerned with the interactions between computers and human languages, in particular how computers process and analyze large amounts of natural language data. In this project we have based our word prediction on N-Grams model and have added the support of english grammar rules for improving the quality of the word prediction tools currently in use. By implementing separate rules for all the punctuation marks encountered in the English text we aim to improvise the word prediction at the granular level and thus as the end result obtain a sentence completion tool based purely on the limiting punctuation marks such as the "?" , "." or "!". Design, Development of Dual mass Flywheel and Comparative Study with Conventional Flywheel
-Shinde Tejas S ; Ingale Shushant B.; Kurhe Amit R.; Ghate Prasad S.; R. G. Mhaske
The Duel Mass Flywheel (DMF) is primarily used for damping of oscillations in automotive power trains and to prevent gearbox rattling. We explain the DMF machines along with its applications and components. Afterwards a detailed initial model of the DMF dynamics is presented. This mainly includes a model for two stage arc spring in the DMF and their behavior. Both centrifugal effects and redirection forces act radially on the arc spring which induces friction. An experimental DMF model is compared to a measurement to model validation. Finally the observability of the engine torque using the DMF is discussed. For this purpose the DMF is manufactured and done experiment or testing to see the result. And then results are compared with the conventional flywheel. The objective when developing the DMF was therefore to isolate the tensional vibration from the drive train as much as possible caused by the engine’s rotating mass. Owing to its internal damping spring the DMF almost entirely absorbs these tensional vibrations. The result is very good vibration damping. Flywheel inertia is stored when you rev the engine slightly before letting the clutch out -this small amount of extra power helps in getting the motorcycle with minimum effort. By "borrowing" the power for a few seconds engine has to develop less to move from the standing start. Once the clutch is completely engaged, inertia can no longer be borrowed the motorcycle can only be used what it products in "real time". Read More...
