-Rajeev Kumar ; U. C. Gupta; Pankaj Joshi
Aggregate is relatively inexpensive and does not have complex chemical reactions with water in concrete. It is inert filler in mortar and concrete. Aggregate is a granular material, such as sand, gravel or crushed stone used with cement to produce mortar or concrete. Due to increasing awareness of role being played by aggregates in determining properties of mortar and concrete, the view of aggregate as filler materials is required to be reviewed. The normal concrete strength is usually not dependent on the aggregate strength except light weight aggregates. Aggregate characteristics other than strength, such as shape, size, surface texture, particle size etc. and its mineralogy will affect the strength of concrete. The physical properties of aggregates are inter-related and have definite relationship. The relationship among the physical properties of coarse aggregate with mathematical model for quartzite aggregates has been derived and presented in this paper. Read More...

Himalaya since Vedic times have been considered a vast repository of valuable medicinal herbs, minerals, forest resources etc. Vedic literature followed by the writings of Charaks, Susruta, Dhanwantri, Nagarjuna, Parashar, Balmiki and various other saints, bear testimony to it. "Alexander, The Great", who was much influenced because of its scenic beauty, bracing climate and agroclimatic conditions, made a great publicity of the Himalayan Herb Science in Yunan and Rome during middle ages (Anonymous, 1977; Chauhan, 1988). This potential, however, remained unexploited especially in higher reaches due to inadequate means of communication. After independence, Govt. of India, gave a special emphasis on road construction in order to bring socio-economic upliftment of tribal inhabitants. But due to lack of proper planning it resulted in serious ecological imbalances. Society has now become aware of the environmental consequences resulting from road construction in hill areas. Right from the days of Vedas, our country has an age-old tradition of environment consciousness. During Samrat Ashok's days social forestry was at its full swing having shady trees along the roads and fruit plants on the wastelands. In this paper efforts have been made to incorporate the latest techniques for protecting the environment after extensive survey of literature (Lone et al., 1992 and Chauhan. Read More...

Performance Analysis of Multi Phase Abnormal Node Detection Model for Sybil Attack in VANET
-Ashish Ranjan ; Mukesh Kumar Choudhary
Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANET) is a special type of adhoc networks. VANET uses vehicles as mobile nodes in the network. VANET turns the every participating vehicle into a wireless router or node allowing vehicles approximate 100 to 300 meters of each other. The police and fire brigade are connected with each other of safety purpose by VANETS. There are many security issues in VANET but in this work dealing with one of its major security issue i.e. the Sybil attack. Sybil attack is a malicious attack in which the attacker creates multiple identities and uses them to gain a disproportionately large influence. Sybil attack is very dangerous in which the attacker can play any kind of attack with the system and down the efficiency of VANET to a larger extent. These forge identities creates an imaginary appearance that there are additional vehicles on the road. For the prevention of Sybil attacks various strategies have been developed to prevent intruders from attacking the system. In this dissertation work the Multi Phase Abnormal Node Detection Model (MAND Model) is proposed to detect the malicious node. Model is in biphasic which detect malicious node by RSU at entry in the network as well as by the node at packet transmission time. The model is designed and implemented. The results are obtained. The results show that the MAND model gives very good results at low load on each node than the higher load on each node. At the low load model is capable to identify the 57.6% malicious nodes. The whole simulation is performed in MATLAB environment. Read More...
