-Mr.Makarand Karambelkar ; Mahima Chourasiya; Deepesh Rohit; Prof. Kavita Namdeo; Prof. Shaifali Shrivastava
In late 2014, Amazon Web Services launched the "Lambda" service. Since then, each of the major cloud computing infrastructure providers has launched services that support a similar model of deployment and operation, where users are able to deploy individual functions rather than deploy and run monolithic applications or dedicated virtual machines, and only pay for the time their code is actually executing. Serverless computing has arose as a powerful new model for application and device deployments. It represents an evolution of cloud programming models, abstractions and frameworks, and bears witness to the maturity and wide adoption of cloud technologies. Here we survey current serverless systems from industry, academics, and open- projects in this segment, recognize key features and use cases, and explain technological difficulties and open issues. -Prateek S.Dhiran ; Prof. R. S. Kedar; Dr. S. G. Makarande
In order to compete in the ever-growing competent market, it is very important for a structural engineer to save time. as a sequel to this an attempt is made to analyse and design a Multistore building by using a staad pro software. In this project focuses on the structural behaviour of multi-story building for different plan configuration such as regular building along with T- shape and E- shape in accordance with the seismic provisions suggested in IS: 1893-2002 to analyse the performance of existing buildings if exposed to seismic loads. In this modelling of G+15 store’s RCC framed building is studied for earthquake load using STAAD- PRO V8i. Assuming that material property is linear static and dynamic analysis is performed. These analyses are carried out by considering different seismic zones (IV and V) and for each zone the behaviour is assessed by taking three different types of soils namely Hard, Medium and Soft. Post analysis of the structure, lateral displacements, story drift, and base shear, maximum bending moment results are computed and compared for all the cases. Read More...

Concrete comprise of course aggregate, fine aggregate, cement and water and it is prepared in a ratio of course aggregate: fine aggregate: cement: water with a water-cement ratio of 0.50. Then concrete cubes were prepared in size of 15 X 15 cm mould for testing the compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of curing respectively using three curing methods namely immersion, sprinkling and Plastic sheeting, curing to cure the cube specimens until the day of testing. After curing the entire prepared cube they all set for compressive testing and then the results of the entire test were compared. Test results indicates that water curing (WAC) as well as sprinkling (spraying) curing provided much better results than membrane (Plastic Sheeting) method of curing. The rate of drying was significant when the specimens were subjected to membrane (Plastic sheeting) method of curing. This thus hampered the hydration process and thus affected the compressive strength property of the hardened concrete. The overall finding of this study suggests that concrete should be cured by water curing to achieve a better compressive strength. Read More...

Extraction of Fuel from Waste Plastic using Pyrolysis Process
-Rohit Yadav ; Rohan Patil; Akshay Deshmukh; Hanmant Shinde; Pritam Patil
There has been an ever increasing global demand for energy in recent years. The demand especially from liquid fuels is very high and the limited resources of fuel production has created bottleneck leading to an energy crisis. This has led to exploring other resources for fuel production, one of which is plastic. Being a non-degradable source, plastics disposed off in the open environment as wastes pose a threat to the environment. Most of the waste plastics end up as landfills. It can instead be used as a source for making fuel. The work describes an attempt to use the waste plastic to synthesize potential fuel called ‘Pyrolysis Oil’ since the process used in order to obtain the oil is Pyrolysis. The obtained oil from different grades of waste plastics is analyzed so as to validate its use as fuel. Waste Plastic from municipal solid waste were collected and were sorted based on their types like PET bottles, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, HDPE and LDPE. These Plastic wastes are graded and shredded and then heated in a closed chamber (Similar to a process called Pyrolysis) to attain temperatures up to 450-5500C. The Plastic waste is melted and gases produced at this temperature are condensed to liquid state. Both, Condensed and Uncondensed gases can be used as fuel to engines. The Fuel produced is tested for Calorific Value, Density, Viscosity and Fire point, and is compared with Gasoline and Diesel Fuel. Read More...

Smart Voting System based on Finger Prints and Face Recognition
-Nitin Bachani ; Nishant Panchal; Divyani Jigyasu
Bogus (fake) voting is still a major drawback in the Voting system. In Aadhar Card, the Government has all the information of us including Finger-print and Retina. Biometric Finger-print devices and Web Cameras are used in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) system for voter verification. We have proposed a Smart Voting Machine (EVM) system in which, for the user, there is no need to carry the ID which contains his required details. The voter at the polling booth needs only to place his Finger on the Finger-print sensor and capture the face identity in web camera at the counter of the polling booth. Thus, allowing the acquisition of an on-spot Finger-print and Face identity is enough from the voter which serves as identification. Further, this data of voter is passed onto the controlling unit for the verification process. The controller of the system fetches the data from the reader and compares this data with the existing data which was stored during the registration process of the voters. If the data matches the pre-stored information of the registered voter, that is Finger-print and Face, then only the voter is allowed to cast his vote. If the data does not match, a warning message is displayed on the display component (LCD) and warns through the voice message by this way, the person is barred from casting his vote. The vote casting mechanism is achieved manually using the keyboard. Display component (LCD) is used to display the related messages, warning messages and ensuing results. Read More...

Technological Advancements in Non-Conventional Energy Sources
-Vivek Belkhede ; Rahul Nalge
Energy is the key input to drive and improve the life cycle. Primarily, it is the gift of the nature to the mankind in various forms. That the human race faced an energy crisis became painfully obvious during the 1970s. Since that time the blatant obviousness of the problem has waned, but the underlying technical and political problems have not disappeared. Humanity continues to increase in number (the world population is, at present, in excess of five billion) and, despite major efforts towards improving the efficiency of energy consumption, the overall per capita use of energy continues to increase. With ever growing population, improvement in the living standard of the humanity, industrialization of the developing countries, the global demand for energy is expected to increase rather significantly in the near future. The primary source of energy is fossil fuel, however the finiteness of fossil fuel reserves and large scale environmental degradation caused by their widespread use, particularly global warming, urban air pollution and acid rain, strongly suggests that harnessing of non-conventional, renewable and environment friendly energy resources is vital for steering the global energy supplies towards a sustainable path. SRWH System based Sustainable Groundwater Development in India
-Agila A ; Shanthi Chelliah.D; Mahalakshmi.M.R
Water plays a vital role in proper functioning of all Earths ecosystem and human activities such as agriculture and other essential activities. Hence the water conservation ,has risen to be an important issue in todays society. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is a simple method by which rainfall is collected and saved for future usage. The collected rainwater may be stored, utilized in different ways or directly used for recharge purposes. But there is no automated system for Rain Water Harvesting (RWH).Even though government takes many useful steps to increase ground water level by RWH, publics contribution is much lesser due to lack of facility and cost factor. Some people have implemented traditional RWH setup, but do not maintain properly. To solve this kind of issues, an automated system is proposed to increase rainwater and to increase ground water level. The proposed system consists of two sensors mainly, one is optical rain sensor to detect the occurrence of rainfall and another is cloud sensor to detect presence and nature of cloud. For this, a water level sensor is implemented in tank that continuously monitors the water level. If the output of water level sensor is reduced or maintains in a constant level, then the information will also be sent to monitoring sector through IoT. Hence the proposed system is implemented for efficient RWH which is simpler and cost effective. Read More...
