One of the most important safety features in an automobile is brake. A typical automobile consists of two types of brakes, one for retarding the speed of vehicle while it is in motion and other is to hold the vehicle in its place when standing still or parked. The latter is mostly important when the vehicle is parked on slope. It is important to disengage the handbrake before starting the vehicle from rest position. Sometimes due to negligence or in emergency conditions, we humans often forget to apply parking brakes. This may lead to rolling of vehicle in case of slopes and collision with other vehicles in parking area. Sometimes if service brake fails parking brakes are used as a emergency brake to stop the vehicle. This Project provides a new concept design of the parking brake system that has simple and low-cost characteristics. This system uses electrically operated components using solenoid circuits. Blockchain in Food Supply Chain
-Vidyanshu Kumar Mishra ; Shubham Tiwari; Akshay Mishra; Abhishek Jaideep
With the increase in the complexity of the industrial food supply chain, the traceability is becoming scarce. It has becoming a tedious and costly task to trace the processing of a packed product , as the data is stored in the relational databases it is quite easy to tamper the data stored in the database through an unauthorized access. To tackle all these issues and address the problem of traceability Blockchain is a suitable technique to store the data in the database. By making the use of blockchain we can generate a ledger where each processing unit will make the transactions in the system and all the data related to the processing of product made at that unit is appended easily to the blockchain. By doing this, we are creating a tamper free ledger which is used to trace the processing details of the product in a really fast and cost effective manner. We are here, creating a peer to peer network of different systems which will keep on making the transactions and the data will be stored in the ledger. A server will be there to monitor the transactions and to trace the product details if requested by the system administrator or by the end user. There will be a backup server also which will take the command of the requests once the main server becomes down and it also maintains a copy of the whole data. In this way it is feasible to trace the processing details of a product, once unique identity of the product is provided to the server. Read More...

Corporate social responsibility is ending up being significantly essential to todays prospects. Firms that offer a work environment and business society of appreciating important social problems can be effective at both business as well as repaying to the wider area. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is mostly associated with the huge business. They are extra high account and thus attract more media attention as well as they are particularly concerned to shield and also enhance their credibilities with the more comprehensive public as well as vital stakeholders. They are additionally usually better-resourced and also more able to buy CSR. Nevertheless, CSR is necessary for little and also medium-sized ventures also (SMEs are organizations of up to 1,000 staff members). There are several meanings of CSR. Essentially, nonetheless, CSR describes the commitments of the firm to society or, a lot more specifically, the companys stakeholders-- those affected by corporate plans and techniques. The EUs widely-disseminated interpretation emphasizes that CSR is voluntary, surpasses what the law requires, and is an essential component of business: it is "a principle whereby companies integrate socially as well as environmental problems in their service operations as well as in their communication with stakeholders on a volunteer basis. It has to do with business deciding to surpass the minimal lawful requirements and also commitments stemming from cumulative arrangements in order to deal with societal needs." Read More...

-Sunil Ratnakar Katwale ; Parikshit R. Ghutake; Prof. S. V. Borkar
The objective of the research paper is to test the performance of the vapour compression system using liquid heat exchanger. The main purpose of our project is to increase the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system with reduction in global warming potential (GWP) and with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and minimum energy consumption using liquid heat exchanger. In our project we are using blend of two refrigerant i.e R600a and R290 in various proportion and the another refrigerant used is HFO-1234yf, with the help of liquid heat exchanger and in both the cases of refrigerant we calculated that the COP of the system had increased and global warming potential and energy consumption were reduced with zero ozone depletion potential as compared to the current used refrigerant R134a and existing vapour compression refrigeration system. As liquid heat exchanger involves cooling and heating process the load on compressor is reduced and more cooling effect with minimum energy consumption and less harm to environment. As compared to the current refrigerant R134a which global warming potential(GWP) i.e. 4 with zero ozone depletion potential(ODP). So by using HFO-1234yf and another blend of R134a and R290 we had increased the COP and reduced the GWP of the system and thus we have successfully fabricated and tested the vapour compression system using liquid heat exchanger. This is controlled by human head movements (HM) performed by wearing the head mount displays. HM prediction is at extreme level of importance and thus needs attention as it determines the eye fixations too. Thus, head movements and eye fixations are a vital part for perfect capturing of the material in the FoV range. There are works related to this comprising of the deep learning approaches, reinforcement learning and more. The paper establishes a database with the help of face detection and camera. Collecting this database, we will use the convolutional neural networking approach to capture the environment in the FoV. Read More...

-Y Laxmana Rao ; Ch NarayanaRao; Kalapala Gethika; B Sravani
The railway crossing accidents are increasing day by day from past few years due to carelessness in manual operations at railway level crossing. The aim of our project is to automate various operations related to opening and closing of railway gates in order to minimize the accidents at unmanned railway gates. Automatic railway gate at a level crossing replaces the gates operated by gatekeepers. It deals with two things, firstly, it deals with the reduction of time for which the gate is being kept closed and secondly, to provide safety to the roads users by reducing the accidents. By employing the automatic railway gate control at the level crossing the arrival of the train is detected by the RF transmitter and signal will be received at receiver station. Hence, the time for which it is closed is less compared to the manually operated gates. The operation is automatic. Automatic railway gate control is highly microcontroller based arrangements. The proposed system overcomes the traditional Railway Level Crossing System without intervention of human which can be done automatically. Read More...

State of Charge Estimation of Electric Vehicle Battery
-Surabhi P. Umap ; Prof. Vaishali S. Chavhan
The state of charge (SOC) of the Lithium Ion Batteries (LIBs) is a core parameter in the implementation and development of batteries management systems which requires the accurate measurement of the battery capacity which is used in the development of EVs, and thus is becoming a very critical issue. Only with the accurate measurement of the SOC using various equations and parameters, it is possible to manage the battery energy effectively to prevent it from risks resulting from over-charging and over-discharging. It can also provide the necessary data and form a basis for other energy related system requirements as well. In the process of the SOC value estimation, we must consider the impact of various factors in the LIBs’ working process like Cell Ageing, Cell Imbalance etc., using various reasonable equivalent circuit model of the LIBs. Appropriate estimation algorithms are used to measure and improve the accuracy of SOC estimation. The batteries and battery management systems (BMS) are the key components of EVs. The SOC value, which marks the remaining capacity or power in the batteries, is also the core parameter of the BMS. It is a reflection of the operational status of the main feature, providing basis for the vehicle control strategy judgment and management. And the accurate estimation and management of SOC can improve the battery state of life (SOL) and the vehicle or application performance. The indication of SOC is often referred to as an estimate rather than a measurement or determination as there is no single correct process to be employed. And also, it is not yet possible to determine the SOC one-hundred percent accurately. In this method, real time battery used for calibration of SOC estimation using Arduino UNO controller. Also we will analyze the performance of battery with simulation of Arduino controller with MATLAB simulink model. ANN model will be design in MATLAB simulink for identification of exact SOC of battery. Read More...

Suspension system adjust the suspension of an automobile to adapt to bumps or potholes that are encountered in the road as the vehicle is driving. These system have the potential to improve safety, performance and ride comfort in automobiles. An integral part of suspension system is a device to detect irregularities in the road current detection system that are available lack either in precision, resolution or speed. A senior design project, dynamic automatic adjusting suspension system (daas).development of the dynamic automatic adjusting suspension system totally new design and road profile sensor (rps).the road profile sensor was implemented through the design of a range finder that uses a lidar sensor with a laser to measure distance. The distance from the sensor to the road changes as irregularities in the road are encountered, and this change in distance is measured by the road profile sensor to determine the size if the irregularities. Vehicle have suspension components that help to isolate the chassis of the vehicle from the road over which it travels. This is accomplished by placing a spring and damper system between the wheels and the chassis if the vehicle. The suspension components are chosen to optimize the automobiles handling on flat ground with minor irregularities and do not handle large bumps well. Common automobiles drive very poorly in rough situation .a vehicle that is roads much better, but will not handle as well as high speeds or in sharp corners where stiffer suspension improves performance.
