Design and Implementation of Industrial Scrap Segregation System using PLC
-Yashika Choudhary ; Rajinder Tiwari; Jamini Sharma; Hiba Khan; Muneesa Abdullah
As the population rate is growing very fast nowadays, with this not only the waste being produced is increasing beyond levels but also the problem to manage this waste is rising. Throwing waste into bin is a good thing but it is not where the problem of waste management ends, but it is where it actually begins. Till now there is no such remedy to manage this amount of waste with safety and better efficiency but by introducing the concept of automation in waste segregation process numerous advantages can be gained. Using PLC (Programmable logic controller) for this purpose will add more plus points in it like less human intervention, elimination of hardwiring, time consumption. In this discussion, the author is intended to put forwarded an arrangement of a system which is capable enough in itself to monitor and control the level of an overhead as well as underground water tank. This home automation system has been designed with the use of complete tools i.e. hardware and software modules provided by Mitsubishi. The PLC used in this system has been operated with the help of GX Work 3 software and Ladder Diagram based programming approach. The complete simulation work of the overall system has been carried out with the use of HMI and GX Design 3 tool again provided by Mitsubishi. Read More...

Security Enhancement of Organization using Machine Learning
-Swati Das ; Disha Gavande; KM Radha Goel; Shaiq Wani
Security equipment such as Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) is an important supplementary for security management. They reduce the difficulty of network management by giving alarms corresponding to different attacks instead of raw traffic packet inspection. But there are many false alarms due to their running mechanism, which greatly reduces its usability. In this paper, we develop a hierarchical framework to mine high threating alarms from the massive alarm logs, and aim to provide fundamental and useful information for administrators to design efficient management policy. Firstly, the alarms are divided into two parts based on their attributes, the first part mainly includes several kinds of famous attacks which are critical for security management, we proposed a similar alarm mining method based on Choquet Integral to cluster and rank the frequently occurred attacks. The rest alarms constitute the second part, which are caused by the potential threats attacks, also include many false alarms. To reduce the effect of false alarms and rank the potential threats, we employ the frequent pattern mining algorithm to mine correlation rules and then filter false alarms. Following we proposed a self-adapting threat degree calculation method to qualify the threat degree of these alarms after filtering. To verity the methods developed, an experimental platform is constructed in the campus network of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Experimental results based on the data collected verify the efficiency of the developed methods. For the first kind of alarms, the similar alarms mining accuracy is higher than 97% and the alarms are ranked with different processing urgencies. For the rest alarms, the proposed methods have filtering accuracy above 80% and can rank the potential threats. Based on the ranking results, administrators can deal with the high threats with their limited time and energy, in turn, keep the network under control. Read More...

-Zade Vilas Tukaram ; Suryawanshi Shivshankar Manohar; Palkratwar Nikhil Dynshwar; Tapse Mahesh Shankar; Prof. S. S. Dhore
Project is concerned about and to develop an “Automatic tire pressure inflation systemâ€. As we are aware that by drop of few pressure units in vehicle its results in the reduction in mileage, tyre life, safety and performance. Driven by studies, if there is a drop in tire pressure by a few PSI can result in the reduction of gas mileage, tire life, safety, and vehicle performance. We have developed an automatic tire inflation system that ensures the tires are properly inflated constantly. Our design proposes and successfully implements the use of a compressor which is centralized and will supply air to all four tires through hoses and a rotary joint which is fixed between the wheel spindle and wheel hub at each wheel. The only part of a vehicle which is not getting automated is tyres. From the studies it is known that a slight drop in pressure, will affect the tyre wear, safety, gas mileage and whole vehicle performance. To neglect the unwanted stress and waste of time for inflating the tyres, this (Automatic Air Inflation) system is designed. This system states that the tyres are optimally inflated at all running conditions. Read More...

Crop Health Analysis using MATLAB
-Richa Narnaware ; Sumedha Raikwad; Ruchika Sandekar; Shraddha Gondane; Harshada Joshi
Identifying crops is crucial for some of the reasons. Crop maps which may be of any type are generated by national or multinational agencies of agriculture, insurance and regional agricultural councils to plan and prepare an inventory of grown crops in various regions. This is effective for the purpose of forecast of grain supplies, collection of crop production statistics, facilitation of crop rotation, soil production mapping, assessment of crop damaged because of storms and other natural hazards and to monitor farm activities. Important activities include identification of the type of crop. Old techniques to obtain this information are ground surveying and census. In order to make standardize measurements however, especially for multinational agencies, remote sensing can provide data collection and information of strategies. Use of remote sensing will offer an effective and dependable means of acquiring the required information, to order map crop type. Remote sensing and loading images from MATLAB database and then segmenting it can provide structure information about the health of the vegetation. Accuracy, defected area, enhanced area cluster are analyzed in this paper. Read More...

Adjustable Wheelbase of Two Wheeler using Mechanical Power
-Ajay N Jagtap ; Nikesh R Rai; Prasad D Rajguru; Ashish S Shinde
Based on the speed and comfort level, two-wheelers are classified as mopeds, commuter bikes, cruiser bikes and sports bikes. The cruiser bikes offer more comfort level due to longer wheel base (average 200mm to 300mm more than normal commuter or sports bikes). But it gives less stability at high speeds at cornering. The commuter or sports segment on the other hand gives more agility in the cornering whereas it is less comfortable to the driver. Combining the two types i.e. commuter or sports segment with the cruiser segment would result in overcoming the shortcomings of both the bikes. The idea is to increase the length of the wheel base using the lead screw mechanism to convert commuter/sports to cruiser bike. Along with the increase in the length of the wheelbase, mechanisms of the chain transmission and seat adjustment is proposed in the design so as to maintain the dynamics of the vehicle. Read More...

An Enhanced Method on Embedded Home Surveillance System using IoT
-N.Arun Prasath ; K.Muthusamy; Dr.S.Muthu Vijaya Pandian; K.Geetha
— In this project design and implement a home embedded surveillance system with ultra-low alert power. Traditional surveillance systems suffer from an unnecessary waste of power and the shortcomings of memory conditions in the absence of invasion. In this design we pressure sensors as the alert group in windows and doors where an intruder must pass through. These low-power alert sensors wake up the MCU (Micro Controller Unit) which has power management for the ultrasonic sensors and PIR sensors indoors. This state transition method saves a large number of sensors required for the alert power. We also use the Majority Voting Mechanism (MVM) to manage the sensor groups to enhance the probability of multiple sensors sensing. After the MCU sends the sensor signals to the embedded system, the program starts the Web camera. Our sensing experiment shows that we reduce the system’s power consumption. Read More...

-Amandeep Kaur ; Nancy Sharma
Traditional ways of image retrieval using the keywords has many problems associated with that. The flourishing concern in the area of CBIR has been entrenched in latter years. The CBIR system follows the approach to retrieve images based on their visual content. CBIR system achievement primarily depends on specific image depiction and identical operations. A new technique i.e. soft computing is used in this system which will bring accurate results as to the previous proposed system. To get the desired range of similarity, this technique finds the similarity of data store in each image to query image in terms of its visual features and gives the output image. To build an efficient NN feature, we need the functionality to auto calculate the weights according to the data sets. To achieve this, we need to apply back propagation or feed forward algorithm for neural network classification and further, for feature matching, we need to calculate cross correlation and apply regression Model.
