-Pragati Bodkhe ; Mrs.Pragati More; Dr.Ashok More
Biodiesel is a form of diesel fuel derived from plants or animals and consisting of long-chain fatty acid esters. It is typically made by chemically reacting lipids such as animal fat (tallow), soybean oil, or some other vegetable oil with an alcohol, producing a methyl, ethyl or propyl ester. By using biodiesel, we can protect the environment and begin to address climate change. Biodiesel sharply reduces major harmful pollutants, toxic gases such as NOx, CO, CO2, HC etc. Using it in place of fossil fuels cuts particulate matter and hydrocarbon emissions and various harmful gases by nearly half. Nonedible oil from Cashew nut shell (CNS) is reported to be feasible choices for developing countries including India where consumption of fuel is very high. CNS oil is relatively an inexpensive and available raw material for biodiesel production as India is one of the largest producers of cashew nut in the world. additives added in to the blends of biodiesel with diesel then they can enhance the quality of combustion and leads to complete combustion. Diethyl ether, ethanol, methanol, and n-butanol can be used as biodiesel additive because of their higher oxygen content. nanoparticles as additive in biodiesel has emerged as a new promising fuel additive for achieving improvement in the performance and level best reduction of exhaust emission. Biodiesel fuel filter blockage problems occur even though the biodiesels cold flow properties (CFP) filter clogging problems, viscosity, air quality, etc. Hence, it is todays need to reduce harmful pollutants which is generate from diesel and use biodiesel with best additives and make biodiesel more eco-friendly. Network Intrusion Detection using Supervised & Un-Supervised Machine Learning Algorithms
-Mohammed Sufiyan Saqib
In recent years, with the enormous volumes of data produced every day because of the rapid increase in computer/mobile usage and digital computer network, the defense of the computer system becomes more and more crucial. This brings a growing concern in information security and analysis of data, as network hackers discover new network intrusion attacks day by day. Network Intrusion detection system prevents network attacks by monitoring the computer network and analyzing the data in the computer system or the computer network. There have been various researches conducted to find an efficient solution to prevent network intrusion to ensure privacy and security in the computer network. But with the emergence of high volume, variety, and velocity of data in the computer network, the traditional techniques for network intrusion detection face difficulty in the data analysis process to detect attacks. Machine learning techniques prove to be a very effective tool for analysis of abnormal behavior as it provides supervised and unsupervised methods for clustering classification and regression. These techniques can identify any anomalous behavior in computer network traffic. The principal aim of this paper is to develop a machine learning model which can work on a dataset with no output label i.e., no dependent variable and should be able to classify any abnormal behavior in the network traffic, to satisfy this aim a combination of the unsupervised and supervised machine learning algorithms is used to develop a hybrid machine learning model which will cluster and classify any abnormal behavior in network traffic. The CICIDS2017 dataset is used to train and test the proposed model. The algorithms used to develop the hybrid machine learning model are Principal Component Analysis/PCA (unsupervised machine learning) used for dimensionality reduction, Kohonen Self Organized Maps (unsupervised machine learning) used for visualization and clustering and Artificial Neural Networks (supervised Machine learning) used for regression and classification. The accuracy calculated for the evaluation of the developed hybrid model is 82%, with a False Positive of 9.40% and False Negative of 6.64%. Read More...

-Jayrajsinh Aniruddhasinh Gohil ; Mayur M Makwana
Due to increasing demand of high power and efficiency, there is a need to improve internal combustion engine sub systems. The effective cooling system of IC engine can lead to reduction in average temperature of important engine parts like piston, valve, piston ring, injection system, etc. And saving in lubrication oil will reduce engine maintenance cost and increase engine life. Effectiveness of heat rejection systems by air cooling methods mainly depends on heat transferring area; more heat transfer area can be achieved by providing fins on cylinder block. The fin parameters like length, pitch, thickness, number of fins and materials have great influence on heat transfer rates, so if sole purpose is to increase heat transfer rates than shape of fin will play crucial role in increasing heat loss capacity of cylinder block of same size and same materials. In this paper, Ansys CFX 18.0 is used for CFD analysis. First of all, Results of CFD analysis is validated with past experimental work. Influence of Variations in pH and Alum Concentrations on Colour and TurbiditY Removal in Raw Water Treatment
-Kodak U. Emerson ; H. E. Jijingi; Gregory C. Obiechefu; Anthony U. Onuruka
One characteristics of raw water is the presence of sediments and suspended particles, alongside dissolved organic matter (DOM). These constituents impart colour and turbidity including pathogens to the water, making it unsafe for human consumption. Coagulation-flocculation is a major step in the drinking water treatment process, allowing the removal of colloidal particles and organic matter which are precursors to potentially carcinogenic disinfection by-products. To provide a practical cost-effective solution to colour and turbidity removal, this work investigated the performance of alum (Al2(SO4)3 at different levels of concentration for the treatment of raw water using the jar test procedure. Each aluminium dose was investigated on a pH level of 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, and 7.5 respectively. The results showed that optimum colour and turbidity removal was achieved at pH 6.5 for which 90 % colour and 70 % turbidity removals respectively were achieved using 90 mg/l alum dose. Above the optimum pH, end turbidity of the water was increased above the residual value for alum concentrations below 90 mg/l, while there was no appreciable reduction in end colour. This study demonstrated that the operating conditions of a water treatment plant can affect its treatment efficiency. It also highlighted the need to investigate the various conditions that could affect colour and turbidity removal in a conventional water treatment process. Read More...

A Review Study on the partial use of Recycled Coarse Aggregate in Concrete
-Nancy Baghel ; Dr J N Vyas
RCA is made up of both aggregate and cement mortar from its original application. Its make-up results in absorption capacities, which are higher than NA. Its high absorption capacity indicates that RCA can retain a relatively large proportion of water. Internal curing of concrete is the practice of intentionally entraining reservoirs of water within concrete. This water is drawn into the cement at a beneficial point in the cement hydration process. This water allows for a more complete hydration reaction, less desiccation, a less permeable concrete pore system, and less susceptibility to the negative effects of poor curing. The potential for RCA to act as an internal curing agent was evaluated in this research. The study reveals that the use of RCA has substantial effects on concrete performance. These strategies, however, somewhat reduce the green aspect of the proposed mixed concrete with RCA. Read More...

Compressive Performance of Concrete using Hypo Sludge and Polypropylene Fiber
-Kumari Anshoo Lata ; Ankit Sethi
Today’s fast-growing industrialization where production of materials is touching the remarkably Heights, so it’s the need of an hour to utilize the waste which is produced in these factories. Paper producing industries generates a huge quantity of waste, it overcome these problems we need to tackle with alternate methods which will help to the reduce the impact of major environmental problems. This factory ash is known as Hypo Sludge Ash (HSA), for the assembly of paper the chemical is mixed and used for a numerous time for producing the paper of good quality but once its usefulness is achieved the staple can’t be again utilize and also Ground Granulated furnace slag which is that the by-product of ore is used for comparison and its usefulness is suggested. In this project work these wastes is used to replace the cement in various proportions and noticeable changes in reading are recorded. Accordingly, the design mix is made for M40 grade concrete and testing is performed by means of compression testing machine (CTM) and flexural testing machine. It was found that optimum results are obtained at 10 % a replacement of factory ash. The increasing amount of waste is a concerning reality that has arose the sustainability issues of the environment. Hypo plant in the paper industry generates a large volume of waste in the form of slurry, disposal of which causes environmental pollution. The production of cement also accounts for the global warming by releasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Therefore, formulation of concrete with industrial waste can help in minimizing the environmental problems. In this study hypo sludge was used as a replacement of cement in concrete. Polypropylene fiber (PPF) is a synthetic hydrocarbon polymer which was added to augment the strength of the concrete. In present study, 450 specimens were prepared by varying percentage of hypo sludge (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% & 20%) and polypropylene fiber (0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%&0.10%). The workability of concrete was tested immediately after preparing the concrete whereas the compressive strength and the splitting tensile strength of concrete tests were tested after 7,14 and 28 days of curing. Results indicate that the workability of concrete decreases from medium to low with an increase in content of hypo sludge and polypropylene fiber. The addition of both hypo sludge and polypropylene fiber increases the strength of concrete for all curing ages up to sure point. After that, there is an abrupt reduction in strength of the concrete. The combination of 10% hypo sludge and 0.5% polypropylene fiber is suggested for the utmost strength with minimum coefficient of brittleness. Incorporation of hypo sludge decreases the cost of concrete up to 18.35%. Read More...

Improving the Efficiency of KDD Cup 1999 Data for Intrusion Detection Using K-Means Algorithm by Removing the Count Attribute
-Pratik Jain ; Yash Ratnaparkhi
Detection of intrusion bounds a large cover of security-based techniques designed to detect and report the malignant system to archive the evidence of intrusion. To comprehend intrusion detection, the meaning of intrusion should be clear. According to Webster’s dictionary, an intrusion is “the act of thrusting in or of entering into a place or state without invitation or welcomeâ€. For the sake of understanding the article, we will define intrusion as any network activity or unauthorized system related to one or more computers or networks. This could be a sample of a legal user of a system trying to intensify his right so that he can gain greater access to the system that he is currently allocated or a legal user trying to associate to a remote port of a server to which he is unauthorized. These intrusions are generally commenced from the outside world, such as a disappointed ex-employee who was fired recently. This paper also discusses the concept of false positive. The false positive is referred to as the case in which the normal data is detected as an attack. For this, we take an example and try to find a solution for the same. The KDD CUP 1999 data set is used for this purpose. Results indicate that a class with a higher number of counts is expressed as an anomaly class. But if a true person crosses the threshold value of count it will be counted as an anomaly. So to remove false positive & to detect the true person, one solution is offered. Read More...
