Analysis of Interrelationship Between Pedestrian Flow Parameters
-S. Gayatri ; Dr. N.C. Anil
In this study, pedestrian flow parameters are studied taking into account linear and non-linear relationships among stream flow parameters using realistic approach. Relation between speed and density serves as a fundamental relation. In the study, single-regime concepts and deterministic models such as Greenshields model was used to describe bidirectional flow characteristics on sidewalks and carriages around Visakhapatnam’s transport terminals. Linear regression model is suggested and compared with the other deterministic models. Flow parameters are estimated by LR model using Minitab. Also, linear regression model between observed and estimated values for speed and flow parameters, gives better fitness to predict data as compared to deterministic model. R(Risk indictor) value for speed data prediction and flow data prediction is calculated at sidewalk movement around transport terminal in Visakhapatnam. Read More...

Conscientiously Mechanized Self-Synchronizing and Stabilizing Platform
-Shashank Varma M ; Jaya Sridhar NK
The need for stabilizing mechanisms is wide- spread. Various techniques are applied in search of the ideal solution. A common application is camera stabilization, less common are perhaps self-leveling anti-motion sickness seats or surgery platforms. These systems share the importance of maintaining a constant position or direction relative to a point of reference, regardless of disturbance or movement in space. A method for measuring this position is using an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) consisting of gyroscopes and accelerometers, commonly used in self-stabilizing platforms. The Motion-Disturbance Compensating (MDC), or self-stabilizing, platform aims to correct angular deviations using motors. The signal from the measuring unit requires filtering and in order to obtain any reasonable level of system rapidity control science must be applied. The motors are seen as two individual systems, one for the x-axis and one for the y-axis. A Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is well suited for systems with one signal in, voltage, and one signal out, angle, such as the one in question. This paper reports on a particular solution build on the sensor MPU6050 and its parameters that can scan 6DOF (3 x 3 accelerometer + gyroscope). In real conditions this task is not trivial, since the signals of these sensors are quite noisy and influenced by other variables such as reaction speed, inertia, and accuracy of data interpretation, sensor drift and others. Self- stabilizing platforms can be of great use especially in the automotive, aviation, marine, robotics, and aerospace as well as in everyday life. Read More...

In many villages of our nation people are diverting towards LPG and gober gas for preparation of their food, still firewood is the basic fuel used for cooking purpose. There are several drawbacks of burning wood as fuel, such as it creates lot of smoke, clinkers, un-burnt carbon due to which carbon monoxide is liberated which is highly dangerous to living organisms this causes suffocation too. Also extensive cutting of trees, leading to deforestation increases pollution to large extent; depletion of ozone layer by increase in global warming is very harmful for environment. The main purpose of the present study is to develop low cost, eco-friendly solar cooker. Commercial solar cookers are costlier since made from high grade materials which a common man cannot afford. To overcome this problem an innovative low cost, eco-friendly autoclave aerated concrete (AAC) brick box type solar cooker with side loading arrangement is developed. It has been tested and parameters like efficiency, cooking power and figure of merits are evaluated. It is very difficult to calculate and analyze the thermal behavior of the side walls of different materials attached to each other. The study of composite materials thermal behavior is useful for the determination of heat transfer rate. These composite materials which can be implemented to many applications such as thermal Insulators, multiwall thermal protection systems, etc. In this study the thermal behavior of composites materials side wall of box type solar cooker is analyzed. The experimental test is carried out for finding heat loss coefficient of autoclave aerated concrete (AAC) brick box type solar cooker. Read More...

-Gurdeep Singh ; Sumit Sharma; Sohail
As we know Concrete is a majorconstruction material in the world but due to its low level tensile strength and other factors of nature, forming of cracks in concrete is a very common problem and without proper and quick treatment, cracks in concrete structures begins to expand more and ultimately lead to failure of structure. Cracks in concrete also develop an open passage to the reinforcement bars leading leads to corroded steel bars, which leads to durability problems of structure. For many years now proper healing of concrete cracks is prime object of investigation. In order to vanish this huge problem, an efficient technique has been introduced in fixing cracks with environmental friendly biological process that is also known as self-healing process based on the use of smart concrete which is generally known as Self-healing concrete. Hence principal objective of the research is to develop self-healing concrete by incorporation of bacteria as self-healing agent. An experimental program is carried out to examine the self-healing mechanism by evaluation of bacterial influence and its effect on the concrete. In the current study, bacteria termed Bacillus Subtilis was incorporated with concrete in different concentrations. Evaluation of healing effect was worked out by comparing compressive strength, water absorption content, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) of bacterial concrete to conventional concrete. Specimen were experimented for compressive strength at the ages of week, month and two months of curing. Other tests like Slump cone test, UPV test, water absorption tests were also conducted. Finally, healing of cracks was visualized at the age of 60 days and analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) studies. The results pointed that that a significant amount of self-healing of cracks was achieved and use of bacteria named Bacillus Subtilis proved to be a better choice. Hence we concluded that the stiffness, workability, compressive strength and dura-bility of concrete gets increased with the bacteria inclusion in the concrete. Also it is evident the concrete cracks have been healed by the formation of limestone (CaCO3) which is observed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Read More...

Effects of Additives Modifiers on Stone Mastic Asphalt - A Literature Review
-Puppala Venkata Ramana ; Dr G Ganesh Prabhu
Bitumen is a natural derivative material and it is generally utilized in road construction due to its good conventional properties includes excellent bonding properties with coarse aggregates and viscoelastic behaviour. Since the bitumen is a complex material, the behaviour of bitumen will get vary at high and low temperatures. At low temperature the bitumen reveals elastic behaviour and at high temperature it reveals liquid behaviour. Prioritization of Sub-Watersheds by Hypsometric Studies for Shimsha Watershed, Cauvery Basin, Karnataka, India Using Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques
-Ramesh L Dikpal ; Dr Renuka Prasad T J; Dr G S Srinivasa Reddy
Hypsometric of drainage basins (area-elevation analysis) have generally been used to reveal the stages of geomorphic development (stabilized, mature and young). In the present study, sub-watersheds of Shimsha basin were considered towards dimensionless properties of hypsometric integral and curve analysis using Cartosat-1 digital elevation model (DEM) version 1 of resolution 1 arc Sec (~32 m) data obtained from Bhuvan is processed in ArcGIS 10.3v and are effectively used for prioritization. It is observed from the hypsometric curves and hypsometric integral values in the sixth ordered (0.11 to 0.49) and seventh ordered (0.15 to 0.38) sub-watersheds are distributed equilibrium to inequilibrium as well as monadnock stage of geomorphic development. The erosion stage of the lower order watersheds influences its stage to the higher order watershed. If the watersheds will attain a maximum number of identical stage of development will directly indicates the higher watersheds will able to attain the equivalent feature. Basin hypsometry clearly depends on lithology, whereas lithological effect is minor on relief amplitude at various spatial scales. Thus, the hypsometric integral value can be used as an estimator of erosion status of watersheds leading to watershed prioritization for taking up soil and water conservation measures in watershed systems. -Prathmesh Vikas Ghodake ; Nihal Nizamuddin Inamdar; Sarvesh Uday Samant; Pranit Gautam Jadhav
The project focuses on the Maisotsenko cycle and how it overcomes the constraints that are set by the conventional vapour absorption refrigeration cycle and direct evaporative coolers. Though the Direct Evaporative coolers give an adequate amount of temperature drop it causes an increase in humidity and affects the human comfort negatively. While the cooling achieved by the indirect evaporative cooling method is not sufficient even though it eliminates the possibility of increased humidity. Both the above-mentioned cooling systems can be amalgamated in the Maisotsenko cycle to form a completely new system that would eliminate the vices of both systems. Tendency of conventional refrigerants to create pollution is omitted as the said system uses water as a cooling agent. Read More...

-Rinki Sehra ; Dr. M.K. Bhaskar; Rituraj Shekhawat; Priyanshi Goyal; Ritvik Kok
Wind energy refers to the process of creating electricity using the wind, or air flows that occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere. Wind turbines are used to capture kinetic energy from the wind and generate electricity. Wind energy is non-uniform throughout the day and therefore generates power quality problems in the grid connected system. The fluctuation of power at each wind turbine is affected by the turbine type, control algorithm, difference in wind speed, and the tower shadow effect. A wind system is proposed which connects to the grid. Simulation of the proposed system is done by using HOMER software. The optimal solution of wind system which is linked to the grid is obtained through simulation. The obtained data will be very useful for real time implementation of the system. Read More...

Design and Numerical Analysis of Bimetallic Strip Using Finite Element Method
-Deriya Ashish Rameshbhai ; Patel Vipul Ashwinkumar; Nikunj Chandrakant Gediya; Parth Gaud
The goal of this project was to design and analyse a bi-metallic strip so that the free end of the strip would deflect when there is a 20°F change in temperature relative to its reference temperature. The strip had to be not more than 2 inches long with one end fixed, and both metals had the same width, b. We were allowed to freely choose both materials as long as they were metallic. The deflection could be controlled by changing their materials (which changes the coefficient of thermal expansion and the elastic modulus) and the height of the material. The first step was to set the two deflection values equal to each other and find the force in the bi-metallic switch. The Deflection was then found out. Various other parameters like Radius of Curvature, Felicity, Stresses produced in the strip were also calculated. These analytical figures were then compared with software analysis and the results were observed. Read More...

Survey Web Security Services in Cloud Computing
-T.Iswarya ; Dr. S.Britto Ramesh Kumar
Web services will handle private user information in the near future. To avoid this confidential information from ending up in the wrong hands, you must guarantee privacy. More broadly, web providers may need to clarify the rules of their customers, which define who can and under what circumstances access private information. Cloud Computing is a continually changing IT general concept used to apply to various IT technologies and internet infrastructure. Cloud storage can simply be understood to be providing decentralized IT tools over the Web, as opposed to storing and running such products locally such capabilities can involve Software and facilities as well as the networks they run on. Instead the investment of capital on software and equipment people and companies have exposure to the same infrastructure and do not have the ownership obligation to suppliers providing on-demand services such as Consumer Relationship Management (CRM). Cloud computing is the latest development in IT that offers online services for users with resources and shares them across the internet. Many web services in the cloud provide similar features with different service quality. The usage and management of IT promising improvement of cost efficiencies, rapid innovation, quicker time to market and the possibility of scale applications on demand, are transformed in cloud computing.
