Abstract

The main objective of home automation system is help handicapped and old aged people to control home appliances and alert them in critical situations. Home Automation is a term that is regularly used to allude to homes where the machines, lightning, cooling, TVs and so on are equipped for speaking with one another what's more, can be controlled distantly as per a predefined plan or through some sort of interface. The modern home automation system gives security and blissful life at residence. Our paper proposed the design and implementation of home automation, monitoring, and home security through the internet of things (IoT). Voice orders are being given to the Google assistant. Through IoT technology, the user can minimize the wastage of electrical power by proper monitoring and controlling. The commands given through the Google assistant are decoded and then sent to the microcontroller, the microcontroller in turn control the relays connected to it. The device connected to the respective relay can be turned ON or OFF as per the users request to the Google Assistant. The microcontroller used is NodeMCU (ESP8266) and the communication between the microcontroller and the application is established via Wi-Fi (Internet).
