Abstract

Existing bridges must also be strengthened due to their age or changes in loading standards. The design of railway bridges must be completed quickly and accurately in order for railway projects to be completed on time. The analysis and design of a railway bridge's PSC Girder, Deck slab, Pier, Abutment, return wall, and Foundation is an iterative process that is dependent on the loading standard and site conditions. In general, the calculations required for analysis and design are time-consuming and tedious. The goal of this project is to create Excel Program that will assist the designer in arriving at a rational, cost-effective, and sound solution. For linear static analysis of bridge components, the Excel based software was created in Visual Basic. The current project entails the creation of software for the analysis and design of railway bridge foundations, including PSC girders, ballasted deck slabs, piers, abutments, return walls, and pile foundations.
