In recent years, the companies and organizations around the world are showing great interests in quality. Six Sigma approach is a structured quantitative method which is invented by Motorola in 1986 for improving the product quality. Six sigma methodology is widely accepted all over the world in different sectors like manufacturing sector, Health sector, IT sector etc. for enhancing the productivity and quality and to reduce the variations occurring in the process. A better understanding of these six sigma methodologies will be helpful in organizing the six sigma projects in a better manner. This paper gives a brief description of DMAIC methodology that is widely used in six sigma which focuses on bringing about improvements to the existing products and services of the organization. |
