Community detection has become an evolutionary field in the network sciences that have attracted researchers. In present arena complex networks are used to represent the information system. The salient feature of the complex networks is that they naturally contain a community structure. As use of the web is increasing and a large number of social networking sites are surfacing this allows the users to interconnect on a single platform. In this paper an attempt is made to represent a multilayer network their properties and categorization of methods. It also discusses each algorithm on each type of method discussed. In a nut shell, we can say that the extraction of community in multilayer networks is significant in studying complex networks. |
