Abstract |
|
Young girls' self-definition and sense of unique identity heavily depend on their body image, which is affected by a variety of biological, psychological and social factors. Misconceptions about self -image and excessive body image dissatisfaction contribute to depression and anxiety disorders, as well as dissatisfaction, altered eating habits, and nutritional status. In the Indian context, this idea of body image has gotten less attention, especially among young females. Regarding their body and appearance, it refers to how people feel, think, and act. Self-identity about one's appearance is important for the development of self-esteem during adolescence and is also assumed to be an important factor in oneself. |
