Free Vibration Analysis of Stiffened Cylindrical Shell using FEM

Abstract

In this paper, free vibration analysis of stiffened cylindrical shell is performed in ANSYS (Modal analysis) to study the vibration characteristics (natural frequencies and mode shapes) using First-order Shear Deformation Theory (FSDT). The models had to be studied in this paper is built in ANSYS 18.0. Also Different cross-sections of stiffeners like L, inverted T and I- Cross section subjected to both ends fixed boundary condition were applied on the cylindrical shell. . Stiffened structures are often utilized in structural engineering, marine works, aircraft, locomotives etc.
