Abstract |
|
A new set of difficulties in precisely identifying intrusions arises as different forms of attacks become more sophisticated in the current day. The inability to stop invasions might tarnish the reputation of security services for contemporary networks and systems. To combat threats to computer security, several intrusion detection techniques have been developed in the literature. Anomaly-based Intrusion Detection Systems (AIDS) and Signature-based Intrusion Detection Systems (SIDS) can both be used to classify these tactics (AIDS). In addition to a thorough analysis of the most significant recent papers, this article provides a taxonomy of modern IDS. To make computer systems safer, it also outlines the evasion strategies employed by attackers to evade detection and highlights the difficulties for future studies to combat them. At the end of the paper, a proposed algorithm to detect attacks using soft computing techniques has been provided. |
