Abstract

Precast construction is a transformative approach in the construction industry which offers benefits such as faster construction, quality control, cost efficiency, sustainability, reduced weather dependency, and lower maintenance requirements. This study aims to analyze structural behavior & performance of a Precast G+7 & G+14 story residential building having one-way precast slab panels and compare it to a conventional frame structural system having two-way cast-in-situ slab under different loading conditions. The analysis focuses on evaluating response to lateral force parameters, such as lateral displacement, story drift and base shear, in the context of seismic forces. The Modelling will be conducted in software considering Indian standard building codes and factors such as seismic zones, soil conditions and more. Additionally, the study seeks to understand the impact of shear walls in both precast and conventional framed structures when subjected to lateral forces. Results will provide help to select appropriate system from the studied models and optimal solutions.
