The emergence of women entrepreneurs and women-owned firms and their significant contributions to the economy is visible in India. These businesses are ready for continued growth in future. The new generation of women-owned enterprises is actively seeking capital for their businesses, using modern technology to find and create a niche in both the domestic and export markets. This study was focused on the role of the banking sector for the upliftment of women entrepreneurs in the Thiruvananthapuram district. Access to finance has been a key challenge for women entrepreneurs in Kerala. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, shortages of funds are considered one of the biggest challenges for women entrepreneurs. The major objective was to determine the different schemes introduced by the Government of Kerala and the Central government through the banking sector for the upliftment of women entrepreneurs. Banks offer several schemes to support women entrepreneurs in the country to expand and improve their business. The major source of information was collected from secondary data and peripheral information was collected by interviewing the employees of banks in the Thiruvananthapuram district. |
