Abstract |
|
Building Information Modeling is a process that involves designing and managing of Virtual representations of functional and physical characteristics of an infrastructure. Fundamental aspects of BIM are detailed 3D Modeling, data integration, lifecycle management of infrastructure and collaboration among different contributor in a construction project, such as architects, engineers, contractors etc. With the help of these aspects modern civil engineering world can improve productivity, visualization, coordination, documentation, and reduction of waste in the field of structure. To achieve these benefits smooth data transfer is required from the BIM platform to structural analysis software like STAAD.Pro, which can be impede by challenges in interoperability. This thesis aims to understand how structural engineers might benefit by examine the model created by Revit Structure BIM Platform and then converting it to commonly used structural analysis software like STAAD.Pro for improved structural analysis and design. This study includes planning, designing structural model creation in Revit Structure, structural and seismic analysis in Staad. Pro of model created in Revit structure by enabling interoperability and the analysis of the issues related to the interoperability. |
