Abstract

The face recognition-based attendance system targets the automation of attendance in educational institutions or workplaces. It captures the face of the individual using a camera and then matches it against a pre-enrolled database of faces to record attendance. The process is entirely seamless, with the individual's attendance marked automatically upon recognition, thus offering greater convenience, accuracy, and efficiency relative to traditional methods. Such major components would include face detection, facial feature extraction, face recognition, and a storing database for attendance records. This system is built using popular libraries such as OpenCV, Dlib, and even face recognition to provide real-time tracking while efficiently integrating into existing infrastructure, along with all the standards of security and privacy. It has also been designed to function under any conditions of lighting for large-scale implications without compromising on reliability.
