Spring Boot has become as one of the most widely used Java-based frameworks for developing modern web and enterprise applications. Traditional Java web development involves a lot of XML configuration, manual dependency management, deployment on external application servers, and considerable setup overhead. These challenges made development process slower, less maintainable, and complex for developers. Spring Boot helps address these issues by making application configuration easier, embedding web servers, and providing convenient development methods that significantly reduces the boilerplate code. This research paper explores the architecture, core features, internal workflow, and practical importance of the Spring Boot framework in the modern web application development. Spring Boot supports rapid development of scalable RESTful APIs, enterprise systems, monolithic applications, and microservices-based architectures by integrating various components of the Spring ecosystem. Features such as auto-configuration, starter dependencies, dependency injection, embedded servers, security integration, and database support make it strong choice for modern backend development. The study also reviews existing research literature on topics such as Spring Boot, microservices, REST API development, cloud-native systems, and enterprise application engineering. It describes how Spring Boot enhances development productivity, deployment efficiency, maintainability, and scalability. Due to its modular design, strong community support, and compatibility with cloud and DevOps tools, Spring Boot has become a fundamental part of modern software engineering. |
