Abstract |
|
Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials in the world due to its strength, durability, versatility, and economic advantages. The performance of concrete structures largely depends upon proper mix design, quality control procedures, and adherence to specifications during construction. Concrete mix design is the process of selecting suitable ingredients and determining their relative proportions to produce concrete with the required strength, durability, and workability at minimum cost. Quality control ensures consistency in production and helps achieve the desired performance characteristics. This research paper discusses the principles of concrete mix design, quality control techniques, material specifications, testing methods, durability considerations, and modern developments in concrete technology. The study highlights the importance of systematic quality management and optimized mix proportions in achieving sustainable and durable concrete structures. |
