Energy conservation with environment protection i.e., sustainable use of petroleum products are two challenges faced by today's world. The most accepted solution to cope up with these two problems is to use Alternate fuels. Biodiesels are most promising alternate fuels for Diesel. Biodiesel produce from vegetable oil through Transesterification process to reduce viscosity of oil. Blends of biodiesel are successfully used in CI engine without any modification. Present research investigates the combine effect of EGR and Injection Pressure for the performance of DICI engine by using Karanja Biodiesel. To reduce number of experiments, Taguchi method of DOE has been used. Optimum parameters from Taguchi method were validated by experiments and compared the results. The optimum sets were found for BSFC and BTE at 10% Blend, 0% EGR, 180 bar Injection Pressure and 12 kg Load. |
