Abstract

Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) technology is totally based on power electronic devices, which are used to increase the transmission capabilities and make the power system more reliable and stable. This paper will discuss and demonstrate the performance analysis and simulation of Static Var Compensator (SVC) FC-TCR type which is applied to control the transmission systems dynamic performance and efficiency in effective regulation of system voltage. This SVC is basically a shunt connected static var generator whose output is adjusted to maintain or control specific power changes.
