Abstract

With the rising number of people and devices encroaching into the world of Internet, the demand of bandwidth continues to grow higher and higher. They are demanding faster data transmission of huge amount of data. As a result data traffic is growing faster than capacity of exciting network. So it becomes inescapable to deal with Congestion control. The motivation of our research is to address this issue and trying to solve the Problem of large data transfer in high bandwidth delay networks. Congestion control in computer network is an important issue to be addressed. Various congestion protocols are used for avoiding congestion in network. This paper discusses the advantages, disadvantages and the applications of various congestion control protocols for wired networks.
