D-FACTS DEVCES-DISTRIBUTED STATIC SERIES COMPENSATOR(DSSC) AND DISTRIBUTED SERIES REACTOR(DSR)

FACTs mean flexible AC transmission system devices are used for controlling power flow and transmission capacity. The growing demand of power make it is desirable to control the power flow in transmission line. FACTS devices can be added to transmission line at appropriate location to increase the power transfer capacity. this paper give brief idea about D-FACTS device such as distributed static series compensator and distributed series reactor-DSR .FACTS technology the aspect of power electronics offer high speed and reliability of switching, so increasing the power transfer capacity but some problem of FACTS devices offered such as complexity of design and overall cost investment becomes more. The solution of this drawback can be removed by using D-FACTS devices .DSSC belongs to D-FACTS. In this paper has been discuss the concept of series connected distributed FACTs devices.
