Abstract

Construction projects are performed in a complex environment that is categorized by risk and uncertainty. The projects usually fails to achieve their time, cost and quality goals due to the absence of an effective uncertainty management system. It is quite a challenge to manage the risk involved by identifying risks, assessing risks quantitatively and then choosing the most critical reason for the risk. The present study aims to identity the risk factors involved in high way projects in the context of time over run risks using literature surveys, quantification of the risk factors based on the probability of occurrence and degree of impact and then determining the root cause of risks.
