Lossless Image Compression Techniques for Personal Digital Assistant

Abstract

In recent years memory size in personal digital assistance is a crucial issue. Everyone needs more storage size to store data. Cameras are provided with more and more number of mega pixels to improve quality of captured image, but as quality improves, simultaneously size of image is also increases. Captured image is mostly in jpg format. There are two types of compression algorithms lossless and lossy image compression. This paper proposed a technique to compress captured image to reduce size of image to store without decreasing image quality. Number of images are taken and checked on proposed algorithm for compression ratio.
