Abstract

In this paper, Fuzzy Logic Control scheme for Wind Energy Conversion System with Squirrel cage Induction Generator is proposed. A controller is designed to maintain constant voltage and frequency under wind speed and electrical load variations. The controller consists of a series connected Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) with a battery bank. The battery bank included in the dc side of the VSI can absorb and inject active power thus increasing the efficiency and availability of the system. Fuzzy Logic controller is applied for active power and reactive power control. In this paper, the controller performance is demonstrated under various electrical and mechanical variations.
