Abstract |
Heat exchangers are widely used for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. The heat transfer rate of any heat exchangers can be improved by heat transfer enhancement techniques. Generally, these heat transfer enhancement techniques can be divided into two groups: active and passive techniques. The active techniques require external forces e.g. Magnetic field, Electric field, acoustic or surface vibration etc. for heat transfer enhancement. On the other hand, the passive techniques require fluid additives or special surface geometries for heat transfer enhancement. Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) is one of the types of active heat transfer enhancement techniques. In this paper, performance of double pipe heat exchanger is studied and analyzed for elecrohydrodynamic effect. |
