This paper presents simulation and analysis of a Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) test system using MATLAB simulation to compensate voltage sags and harmonics. The model is based on the Voltage Source Converter (VSC) principle. Here different fault conditions are considered for linear as well as nonlinear load. Phase shift technique with PWM control is used for the control of DSTATCOM to compensate the voltage sag. The performance of DSTATCOM for linear and nonlinear load is compared. Moreover harmonics are reduced by using simple LCL passive filter. |
