Abstract

Due to the existence of growth in development of low cost, less weight, highly reliable, minimal profile antennas for wireless devices, it poses a new challenge for the design of antenna in wireless communications. This paper describes the design and analysis of an inset fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna operating at 2.4GHz. All the designs have the substrate having dielectric constant (εr) 2.5, substrate thickness of 1.58 mm and loss tangent of 0.0018. This paper is focused on the designing of an inset fed patch antenna which has been carried out by using CST studio suite. The aim of this paper is on the measurement of return loss, VSWR and bandwidth of designed patch antenna and also to show the effect of varying gap between feed and patch antenna.
