Abstract

Studies on Material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (Ra) are of greatest importance in ECM, since it is one of the determining factors in the process decisions. This research deals that to investigate the effect of different electrodes and process variables on the material removal rate and surface roughness of electrochemical machining (ECM) on AISI D2 steel component. In this experimental study, Design of Experiment Method has been employed to find out the effects of different electrodes (brass and alluminium) and process variables (voltage, electrolyte concentration and machining time) on material removal rate and surface roughness. ANOVA and Regression analysis is performed to estimate the characteristics in terms of the values of the machining parameters by the use of Minitab16 software.
