Abstract |
|
Heat transfer is a discipline of thermal engineering that concerns the generation, use, conversion, and exchange of thermal energy and heat between physical systems. Heat transfer augmentation techniques refer to different methods used to increase rate of heat transfer without affecting much the overall performance of the system. Experiments were carried out for plain tube with/without wavy twisted tape insert at constant wall heat flux and different mass flow rates. The objective of this Project work is to analyses the heat transfer coefficient by using conical inserts and helical inserts with different arrangement in tubes. Heat transfer augmentation techniques are commonly used in areas such as process industries, heating and cooling in evaporators, thermal power plants, air-conditioning equipment, refrigerators, radiators for space vehicles, automobiles, etc. this paper contains literature survey which provides enhancement techniques in heat transfer using inserts. |
