Abstract

Stops are considered as one of the most important class of the phoneme classification. Their detection plays a vital rule in many speech recognition system applications and in psychoacoustic studies for accurate and reliable systems. They are characterized by multiple sub-phonetics events which are responsible for making them important and playing wide role towards their formation from the acoustic-phonetic prospective. This paper includes the factors that are responsible for the detection of the stops and the way in which they are classified.
