Sequential Pattern Mining enables to identify sequences which occur frequently in database of sequences. Such frequent patterns have been used to implement efficient systems that can help in making predictions based on previously observed patterns. Sequential Pattern mining is applied in variety of domains like Healthcare, Education, Web usage mining, Text mining, Bioinformatics, Telecommunications, Intrusion detection.Since 1996 various works had been done for improvement of sequential pattern mining algorithms. This paper presents the evolution in sequential pattern mining and enhancements/changes done in sequential pattern mining algorithms for more refined results and increasing the efficiency and performance of algorithm. |
