Abstract |
|
The Landing gear, an important part of a helicopter, assists the helicopter to land. So, when the helicopter is in land condition, the landing gear should withstand the whole weight of the helicopter. Apart from this, it should also withstand the thrust while landing operation is on. Helicopter landing gear supports the entire weight of an aircraft during landing and ground operations. They are attached to primary structural members of the aircraft. The type of gear depends on the aircraft design and its intended use. The main objective of this project is to develop a practical fatigue analysis methodology for life prediction of rotary-wing aircraft component called cross tube, which is used for landing of helicopters. The focus of this fatigue capability is to be able to predict the service life of aircraft components. ANSYS platform is used to predict the life of aircraft component. |
