Abstract

Solar thermal system play an important role in providing non-polluting energy for domestic and industrial applications. In India, the Rajasthan and Gujarat states have the potential for widespread application of Parabolic through solar collector to harness the solar energy. Parabolic trough solar collectors effectively produce heat at temperature ranging from 50 to 400°C. These temperature are generally high enough for most industrial heating processes and application, the great majority of which run below 300 ° C. In order to maximize heat transfer, the receiver tube need to be augmented. Many researchers have presented different heat enhancement technique like inserting perforated plats, twisted tap, porous media, baffles, fins etc. In this research review, parabolic trough solar collector is presented for high heat transfer in receiver tube with different configure of porous media.
