Abstract

This paper presents a novel control strategy for achieving maximum benefits from the grid interfacing inverter using four-leg VSI predictive control method. This inverter is designed to perform as multi-function device by incorporating active power filter, and it can be utilized for: Power converter to infuse power generated from RES to the grid, and, Shunt APF to compensate load current harmonics, load reactive power, current unbalance, and load neutral current. All of these functions may be accomplished either individually or simultaneously based on the necessity. With such a control, combination of grid- interfacing inverter linear & non-linear unbalanced load at the point of common coupling to the grid is demonstrated through simulations results.
