A voltage source inverter is commonly used to provide supply voltage for three-phase induction motor with variable frequency and voltage especially for variable speed applications, But the conventional square wave inverter facing the problems of odd harmonics. To avoid these problems, PWM method is generally employed. A suitable pulse width modulation- Space Vector Pulse width modulation technique is employed to obtain the required output voltage in the line side of the inverter. The magnitude and frequency of the fundamental component in the line side are controlled by the magnitude and frequency of the reference vector. Also V/F control method is also proposed in this paper to reduce the starting current as well as to avoid flux saturation. Thus efficiency can be increased. Switching signal is generated with the help of FPGA spartan3 module. program is written in the VHDL language and realized using Xilinx software. |
