Abstract |
|
Remote sensing technology has been proved to be highly useful for geological studies both in accessible and inaccessible terrains. Advancement in Image Processing has gained increasing attention in mineral mapping. The objective of this paper is to extend a brief overview of various techniques involved in data pre-processing and various classification algorithms. Data pre-processing is done prior to the image for image enhancement. Satellite based spectroscopes have proved to be an important tool in support of mineral exploration. Also we have discussed about various satellite images and their improved resolution. This aims in choosing an adaptable image for mineral mapping. It is proved that Landsat record has enhanced capabilities including new spectral bands in the blue and cirrus cloud-detection portion of the spectrum. With reference to the study some techniques are chosen to be optimized one for mineral mapping in Jharia region. Jharia region is considered to be the study area since more than 40% of the total minerals of the country are available in this region. |
