Abstract

One of the most important constituent used in the production of concrete is ordinary Portland cement (OPC). With increase in demand of construction, the utilization of concrete is also increasing day by day, while these leads to withdrawal of materials such as lime, gypsum, sand and crushed aggregates etc. as a result of these increase in pollution in the environment rises day by day, hence its needed to search for a material which can replace cement with specified standard and easily available within economy. In these thesis work, cement is been replaced partly with Limestone (L.P) and Ground granulated blast furnace slag (G.G.B.F.S.) in various % respectively, and there corresponding strength properties are distinguished with that of conventional concrete. Limestone Powder and G.G.B.F.S. Here in this project the grade of concrete is chosen as M25 with W/C ratio of 0.5 & M30 with W/C Ratio of 0.45 and the replacement percentages of cement same for both the grades of concrete. Specimens are tested for compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength.
