This paper presents the design & simulation of E shape microstrip patch antenna for wireless communications with parametric study. The coaxial feed or probe feed technique is used in the experiment. The performance of the designed antenna was analyzed in terms of bandwidth, gain, return loss, VSWR, and radiation pattern. The design is optimized to meet the best possible result. Here E shaped microstrip patch antenna is being designed for X band ranging from 8 to 12 GHz using FR4 epoxy, epoxy_Kevlar material, Taconic RF-60 and silicon. Which have 4.4, 3.6, 6.15, 11.9 permittivity respectively. In this paper the effects of changing the permittivity of the substrate is also studied. The design is being simulated using HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) software. |
