Abstract

PCB’s are the backbone of any production level electronic device in today’s market. PCB’s are by far the most common method of combining modern electronics circuits. There are various ways for detecting the defect in PCB, but it is also necessary to categorize them according to their source. The difficulties occurred during the normal inspection of PCB can be eliminated by using automatic visual inspection of PCB. In this paper we represent the automatic detection and classification of PCB using IMAGE PROCESSING techniques. Our system proposes the detection of defect in PCB using image subtraction method and its classification using KNN algorithm. This project uses reference and test images of single layer, bare, grayscale computer generated PCB’s.
