Abstract |

Socio-Economic study of a village will give existing status and it helps to draw road map for the future development. This study coupled with spatial information, adds more precision and it leads to construct complete developmental plan in detail. So in order to find the best choice of achieving sustainable socioeconomic development, it is necessary to find out the association of socio-economic and biophysical condition in different spatial gradients of an area. The location-based problem solving strategies can be tested in producing best possible recommendations for the future. In the present study, an attempt has been made to create a geo-database and assess the Socio-Economic status of T.Puthur village, Andipatti taluka, Theni district with the help of field survey and advance technologies like remote sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS). |
