Abstract

Today’s technology requires high performance device to save energy. Majority applications use water as a base fluid which has limitations to transfer heat from one medium to another. Introducing suspending nanoparticles (Nano fluids) in the heat transfer fluids such as water, oil, diesel, ethylene glycol etc. is emerging technology. Recent research work shows that Nano fluids have higher thermal conductivities compared to the base fluids. Aim of this review is to summarize the recent developments in research on the stability of Nanofluids, improvement of thermal conductivity and viscosity of nano fluid suspension.
