The Internet is a preferred medium. It attracts people from all aspect of life based on ages, occupations, and all other social levels. It has given us new ways of communicating. Computer dedicated communication channels such as video chatting, instant messaging or social networks have become very popular especially among young people. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of social networking sites on social life of higher learning students. A research questionnaire was designed to determine the factors of social networking sites that have impact on students. Variables identified are age, gender, education, social influence and academic performance. 531 respondents that were only students were randomly selected. |
